I've found many new favourite Walker Brothers tracks in this set. this set brings more deapth to the classic tunes such as "Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore", "Love Her", "After the Lights Go Out" and "No Regrets" This box set is a box set that Bear Family could have released! like the Move and Roger Miller box sets, this set is a big cardboard fold out case with the CD's in cases glued to the card. unlike the Move Anthology and Roger Miller King of the Road box sets of this kind of packaging, the book is attached! thank heavens! no more worrying about books falling out of pockets! a downside to this monster Bear Family style box set is the posission of CD number five, located in a dividing pocket, which divides the sections which hold disc one and two on the left, and discs 3 and 4 on the right. disc number five is in an elogical place, in the middle. the label on this disc outstands from the other discs, leading Mum to believe it was not a CD and was not part of the set. I played it in my PC, and it was in deed the right one! unlike the Move Anthology 1966- 1972, the discs are not held in by stupid push tabs on the edge of the dishes for the CD's. they are regular push the middle as you lift style dishes, making for a les frustrating CD changing experience. all that is missing from this set are the two interviews which were included on "After the Lights Go Out: Best of 1965- 1967". I hear that particular release is on it's last batch, and should become a Walker Brothers out of print collectible! the first ever CD release! it is time to retire the old girl gracefully, and pick up this 2006 5 CD compilation, everything they ever recorded, plus a previously unreleased track "Me About You"! this set was worth all the hassles I went through to get it. The British invasion with its profusion of groups including but not limited to the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Kinks, Zombies, Dave Clark Five, the Animals, ad nauseum do not rise above the single handed ability of the Walker Brothers who in a two and half year period produced some 25 to 30 of the most amazing songs and arrangements. I recommend this edition whole heartedly!
