Great filter
These filters are really a good add on to any transmission, they have the big magnet that screens the oil for debris, I added this external filter kit to my, “what for it”, 2008 Ford 250 Powerstroke 6.4, lol little jab at all the Duramax and Cummins Fanboys…..hahahaha

Filter appears to be genuine and fit perfectly. The magnet was borken
I got this filter and the first thing I noticed was that it was black and not orange as is the one in the product description. I did some searching and I don't know if they now manufacture them orange and black or if they've switched to all black colored filters. However I did see plenty of photos online that were black so I am assuming this is a genuine Allison filter. If the seller is going to sell the black filter then change your product description to the black filter, to help clear up anyone's confusion, not that hard. I have a lot of money in the vehicle and its transmission and I want to be 100% sure I am using the best parts available. The installation is standard, it fit perfectly and looked and felt like the original orange filter I was replacing. After installation everything looks good and there are no leaks. The other issue I had was the filter box was a little beat up and as it turns out the magnet ring inside had been chipped and broken. Fortunately I was able to clean and re-use my old magnet. If not for my old magnet still being in great shape, I would have had to return this for a replacement. I kind of felt like since I was purchasing this online, they just grabbed the worst looking box they had off the shelf assuming no one would notice or care. I noticed, and I care, FYI. For the filter itself, I give it 5 stars. For the condition of the box and broken magnet I give it 2 stars. Not wanting to be unfair to Allison I rated it overall 4 stars
