Can this be connected to mains junction box rather than a mains socket? Thanks

No. It comes with a moulded adapter that includes the 3 pins of a plug. The output of the adapter is 9 volts DC and 0.6A. So I’m guessing you might have the same problem I had, not having a socket near to where you want to put the camera. I got around this by extending the DC lead, (7 meters of Halfords car speaker wire at about £4.50) The cable length gives a drop of about 0.15 volts, so nothing to worry about. I also made sure the join would be indoors, soldered the joins (offset) and used heat shrink on the individual wires and then over the complete join. Took about 10 minutes. Hope that helps.

Is the wire thin enough to go through the side of a window? Or does the wire need drilling through the external wall?

Yes, the black cable is thin enough to let my double glazed window closed tightly.

Can you extend the power cable

Yes you can buy extension cable to your length preference.

Can it work on samsung tablet or in a tv

I use is it on my Samsung smartphone on WiFi or live data. I can not see why a laptop or ipad wouldn't work
