Review: Great hitch; easy install - I installed this on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. It is pretty much a 'bolt on' process; I was able to do it solo without too much trouble (if you can hold up 25-30 lbs with one arm, you'll be able to do the same). My biggest problem was getting the factory tow 'loop' off. The only tricky part of the install is the step that requires you to wire-fish two 7/16 carriage bolts through a square spacer. Your mileage may vary, but I found that the fish-wire method was actually more difficult than simply using a magnet to pull the bolt through. Unless you have very thick fingers, you shouldn't have any problem getting the square spacer into place. Rare-earth magnets (like you can commonly get in stores now for super-strong fridge magnets) work very well for this. The one bolt I tried to do their way slipped out and I had a bit of fun locating it and bringing it back to where I could grab it. The one I did 'wrong' was a piece of cake.. That said, the above fish-wire part may not apply to your vehicle. This being my first hitch install, I have no idea how common it is. But that last bit says it all.. This was my first ever hitch install and I had the thing on by myself in less than an hour. Two days later it proved its mettle, hooked to a tow-strap/airplane towing cable combination as it pulled over a shed.. No problems at all.
