Actual BLACK 🖤
Let me start by saying I've dabbled in dying, but am not a serious dyer of things. I've dyed some doilies and such to hide staining (and to go with a macabre theme) using Rit Dyemore for synthetics. I got lovely dark grey's, but not BLACK. Now to this. I bought some cheap plastic net mesh material at Joann's on sale to use for a project, but it was ELECTRIC BLUE. I decided at the price it was, I'd dye it. Knowing I could never expect to achieve my desired end color with the Rit, I hit Amazon and started reading reviews. I settled on this, bought it, and eagerly awaited it's arrival. I'll tell you it worked with a dream now so you can stop reading if you just want to make sure it works. IT WORKS! Ok. Still with me? Holy CRAP did it work! I use a stainless steel stock pot and tongs when I dye things on the stove. I have always poured the dye water down my pink porcelain sink. I've needed to use a little elbow grease to get everything clean before, but not excessively difficult. THIS though? The electric blue had metallic glitter flecks. It is now a GORGEOUS metallic black shimmery wonder. Achievement unlocked. The stainless steel pot was cleaned with bleach this time. The sink was filled with a bleach solution and allowed to soak as it was a lovely shade of grey (an improvement in my mind, but we rent). There are a few spots on the pink countertop near the stove, but that's the next remodel task and it's starting to peel up in other areas. I was EXTREMELY CAREFUL! A single drop of this will stain even METAL almost immediately! It also smelled horrible. The fabric has been washed twice and still stinks. Luckily it's going to become a display rack for hair combs, so I don't really care that it's pungent. I will absolutely use this again, but OUTSIDE! We have a black folding table and we will be using that and our camp stove in future and that stock pot is now dedicated to this smelly messy wonderful process! Water to be poured on the blacktop! It says it can dye 3D printed objects and I completely believe it!

Great color - but watch out for possible shrinkage...
I used this to dye a pair of light blue-gray 100% polyamide hiking pants. I pretty much boiled the pants for about 45 mins and they turned out great! The color is a flat black that is very nice. I was also happy to see that the dye comes with a packet of color intensifier, which I didn't see mentioned in the description. Unfortunately, heating the pants at that temperature for so long caused them to shrink a bit. This isn't the fault of the dye, of course, but it was a disappointing result of the process.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!
This is THE worst dye ever! If I could give it a minus rating I would! I have used other dyes before and never had any problems. I followed the instructions to the letter & still had horrible results. I dyed some brand new socks & it ruined all of them & dyed my feet. I was doing yoga with a pair of the dyed socks on and had my legs against the wall and it dyed the wall & left a stain. I have attached pictures and you can see how it stained my feet, I had a bandage on the one toe and took it off so you can see how badly it stained. It took forever to scrub it off. Smell horrible as well, and so much work to do. I also contacted the company to pay for the $40.00 of brand new socks they ruined, and they said to take to Amazon. deplorable customer service. DO NOT BUY!

Maybe its user error?
I feel like I followed the directions to the T.. I even purchased a stainless steel pot large enough to fit the small 95% polyester/5% elastane dress I was trying to dye (which was primarily black besides the weirdly spaced out rose pattern I was trying to dye). I read in other reviews that the product smelled 'terrible' and people couldn't wear their clothes after, so I went in fully prepared for battle with a mask, fans blowing, windows open.. and I'd say it was mildly unfavorable. So my advice is maybe just don't put your face right above the pot your using & you should be fine cracking a window or two. It was easy enough to use, but time consuming. I used two packets, followed the directions & at first it looked like it dyed the dress decently, but it stained my dryer after washing it in the washing machine twice by itself. I needed the dress for an engagement shoot, and I'm not fussy so figured I'd just wear it anyways.. which I feel like I should I mention there was a blue-ish tint on my light grey couch after I briefly sat down (nothing a throw blanket can't hide I suppose), but the directions said to hand wash till the water runs clear or throw in the washer, and I did did both twice, so like I said maybe it was user error and I did something wrong? Just be careful and test if the color will transfer to other items you don't care about first! Hope this helps!

Made my old dress new again!
Worked just as described except it did not sink into one part of the fabric. Turned out cool though.

Great black synthetic dye
This helped dye my 100% polyester dress so much darker black after Rit only got it grey! I did not have too many issue with the smell, although I made sure to open windows and place a fan blowing near the kitchen. I found it to work so much better than Rit. Two bottles of the Rit synthetic graphite only got my dress to a dark slate grey, while 1 packet of this got it so much darker. Maybe it’s because I did it on top of Rit, I’m not sure! But super happy with the results. Pink is before, grey is after Rit, and dark black if final results after this dye!

Easier then I thought and super gorgeous
Using on satin fabric modesty slip for my wedding dress and after 30 minutes it did this, definitely buying more for the actual dress and that's on barely any heat.

WORKS!!!
Great dye for synthetic fibers. Its a blue black so if you’re trying to do an obré be aware of that. Like other reviews have stated it does have a heavy ink/glow stick smell however that goes away throughout the process (drying, handwashing, drying again, etc) The packet the dye comes in does infact dissolve in the water, they didn’t show that in the video so if you had any doubts, it does work. I recommend this product

Impeccable

Works on polyester outdoor furniture.
I used this to dye some outdoor couch cushion covers that had bad sun fading. They now look good as new but I suggest buying 2 packs if you have a good amount of fabric to dye. It does involve boiling on the stove as well so best done outside if you have a hot plate and don't want to drip dye inside.
