Third gate close post for the fence that's been around for more than twenty years. I got the last replacement from the local hardware store. Now the only place to get a replacement from is the internet. This just slid right in. No problems. Had to remove a side screw that was hanging it up.

This gate latch is well-built and fits nicely.

Happy with the product and price, but I'm not thinking it's "Heavy Duty". The post metal is not very thick and seems like it would bend pretty easy. That said, someone else's idea of heavy duty may differ from mine. Works good for my needs. Keeps the double gate secure enough to keep out animals and nosy kids.

I needed a latch for my chicken door that didn't leave as much of a gap around the frame as the one that came with the coop kit. Once installed this leaves about an inch, too small for my baby chicks to get out. I worried that a dog or critter might be able to lift it and get in, but the design required you lift it up a notch before being able to rotate the latch to open it. This worked very well.

This drop rod is way too short and flimsy aluminum. Buy something else if you need a stronger gate locking drop rod. Don't waste your time unless you plan to make time consuming modifications. Very disappointed.

Quality is cheap. Down post is Hollow & Not Zinc Coated. Would Not recommend or promote. We removed the upright post from the old gate rod that the u shape broke on to use on this one.

The original drop rod in our gate rusted and broke after just a couple years and this fit perfectly. Will it last more than a couple years? Unsure, but for the price I really don’t mind

Works good gets stuck occasionally very interesting design kind of difficult for the kids to open but maybe that’s a good thing. Holding up a year later.
