I have been looking for a good side flood flashlight with UV capability. Not that I need it for anything, just think it's cool to have. This light is impressively small for the high lumen output it produces. It easily beats my other similar sized lights. For me, this is a good flashlight either for a keychain or to chuck in your bag for when you need it. So far, I have used it mainly to illuminate my engine bay while fixing something since the attachable magnetic end cap works really well. In fact, it may become my go to flashlight for the car since it also charges via USB C which I already have in the car for my phone charger. I could also see the red flashing modes being useful as a caution device if you are pulled over on a highway. The only thing I can complain about is that I'm not the biggest fan of the button. It's perfectly fine, but I tend to like the rubber dome buttons better. The gen 4 is described as having a metal button and the images show what appears to be a button that is larger and surrounded by a metal bezel. My gen 3 utilizes a rubbery type material with no surrounding bezel. With my arthritic hands turning the light off and on is often a two handed operation. I would expect a bit less fumbling around with the gen 4 button. But it may also be easier to accidentally have it turn on in your pocket as it bumps into other objects there, making the lockout feature more of a necessity. I don't use/need that feature on my gen 3. That being said it may be worth your while to contact the seller and inform them that you did not get what you ordered and see how they respond.
