Flux Core Welding Wire .030, E71T-GS Mig Welding Wire 2-Pound Spool Gasless Mild Carbon Steel Compatible With Lincoln Miller Forney Harbor Welder

I recently tried out the ARCCAPTAIN Flux Core Welding Wire for a series of DIY welding projects, and I was quite pleased with the results. This wire works really well with my Lincoln welder, making it a great choice for various mild steel tasks. One of the things I really like about this wire is how smoothly it feeds through the welder. This makes a big difference, especially when working on longer welds. The bead quality is excellent, and it produces a consistent, clean weld with minimal spatter, which means less cleanup afterward. Using it for some mild steel repairs and small fabrication projects, I found it performed admirably. The welds were strong and looked professional, even without any gas shielding. The convenience of gasless welding is a huge plus for me, as it simplifies the setup and makes outdoor welding much easier. On the downside, it does produce a bit more smoke than solid wire with gas, but that's to be expected with flux core wire. As long as you have good ventilation, it's not a big issue. This welding wire has definitely earned a spot in my workshop for its reliability and ease of use. It's perfect for DIY enthusiasts like myself who need a dependable wire for various welding projects.

Edit 10/04/2025: Not long after I left this review, ArcCaptain reached out to me to make things right, giving me the option of a refund or new welding wire. I chose the welding wire. I had not done any welding until recently and decided to give the brand a second try. Whatever happened with the old spool to cause the issues I had was not found with the replacement. The welds were nice and consistent with minimal spatter for flux core and I wasn't being smoked out either. It was a far more pleasant experience. I do think I got a bad batch of wire the first time which is understandable given how mass production goes. The fact ArcCaptain was willing to reach out and offer to make it right with no expectations is enough for me amend my review. Original Review: When I first got this flux core wire, I intended it to be as a backup for my other welding wire, until ArcCaptain asked me how I felt about my purchase (which I do appreciate the contact). I had barely used it at the time, so I did not have much in the way of an opinion. After using it for a while, I can finally say this particular roll has been problematic. The first thing that happened was it unraveled off the spindle, costing me about ten-feet (three-meters) of wire which broke off immediately after unravelling. To get an arc, I had to run it hotter than normal for the thickness of metal I was working with, and even then, my bead was all over the place. Using this spool over during my project continued to give me similar, inconsistent results. This particular spool might have been part of a bad batch since there are plenty of people who've been happy with ArcCaptain.

I have a little Craftsman 80 amp mig buzz box that is every bit of 25 years old. I hadn’t needed to use it in probably 5-6 years and needed it last night to fix my son’s exhaust on his car. I bought the ARCCAPTAIN wire in January and just happened to need it when I ran out of the Vulcan wire I had. My welder ran better beads than it ever did before with this wire. I don’t know if it was a fluke or not, but I’ll definitely buy this again hopefully with the same results.

Really good wire for the price, gasless flux core works great for welding exhaust and other stuff like that up.

La consegna è andata ok però non ho potuto testare il filo perché manca il rullino da 09 che traina il filo. Ho richiesto il rullino ma la consegna avverrà verso la metà di febbraio. Comunque ho dato 5 stelle perché il servizio di consegna è stato sempre impeccabile.

Previously a coded welder and was never a fan of cored wired unless used with a shielding gas as well. So on using this when welding outside in not great weather conditions I was surprised at the weld deposits appearance although hard to totally remove the slag coating off the weld unless you have a mechanical wire brush. Bare wire MIG welds are better looking but using this cored wire was surprisingly good
