Is the refill easy to break?

If you have it out too far it can break but we use this quite a bit and don’t have a problem. We use this on darker lumber in our wood shop with the white refill. Love it.

I need to mark up dark wood. Is there a white pencil lead for this?

There are multi-color refills for the Pica-Dry Long-life Pencile. I use the white refills on dark wood such as Brazilian cherry, and the black refills on lighter wood such as maple and oak.

Why does it say the brand is Picard Hammer?

It’s the same thing. It’s pica brand.
