Repeat Customer of 1 Year & Will Continue Buying
I am a repeat customer that will continue buying again and AGAIN. I have 2B/3A wavy hair that's fine but dense and very long. I have struggled with light dandruff, very itchy scalp, and diffuse hair loss, which came on suddenly, out of nowhere, and I struggled with it for about 2 years. During those 2 years, I tried so many shampoos and conditioners-- from top of the line expensive (think Olaplex) to bottom shelf cheap (think Suave). I finally decided to ditch "science & technology" and go "natural & basic", which lead me to Nature Sustained shampoo & conditioner. I have been using the shampoo (not the conditioner) for almost 1 year now. I no longer have dandruff, itchy scalp, or diffuse hair loss. Because of this result, I am convinced that keeping it natural & simple is the way to go for a happy and healthy scalp. The product itself has a great lather, especially for a natural formulation. I find the trick to getting a great lather is shampooing twice. The first time seems to absorb the excess oils causing minimal lather while the second time seems to lift and lather greatly. I use about a nickel sized amount for each lather, and the product lasts me about 3-4 months with hair washing only 1-2 times a week. The product has a very soft raisin-like scent that is easily over powered by your follow-up conditioner or styling products. I find the light scent pleasantly natural, and it has never bothered me. I follow-up with Suave QuenchLock conditioner because my hair gets unimaginably tangled (think rat's nest), and I ONLY apply it on the dead ends of my hair and NEVER on my scalp. This is what has worked for me. Nature Sustained conditioner is great too, if you do not have the issue of unmanageable tangles. It does work on tangles, but takes a lot more time to unravel a wad of tangles like mine. If my story resonates with you because you've dealt with similar persisting issues, I kindly advise to take a "natural & basic" approach on your whole body to get positive results (think anything disrupting your hormones and causing a microbiome imbalance like medications, heavy metals, and chemicals). Hope this helps someone struggling out there!

Quite good!
This tiny bottle is lasting wayyyy longer than I expected! I’ve had it for more than 3 months. Has a somewhat funky herbal scent, but not unpleasant to me, I think it works well, leaves my hair very soft feeling, nice lather, good clean, and I think my scalp is less itchy.

Actually natural and works the best
Best shampoo ever and actually all natural, no greenwashing here. I buy and suscribe through their website now with their conditioner as a duo, though I think order still goes through amazon inventory(?)

Heathy and good value! Read for more details...
My sisters use this shampoo all the time, and after trying it a few times myself, I can see why they like it so much. Even with just a few uses, I noticed my hair felt cleaner, lighter, and less oily. It also feels good knowing the ingredients are gentle and healthier compared to a lot of other shampoos I’ve tried. The shampoo is a bit liquidy with a light, see-through yellowish/clear color. It doesn’t detangle as much as some thicker shampoos, but it still works really well and leaves hair feeling fresh. For the quality you get, the price is great and the value is definitely there. Overall, even though I’ve only used it a few times, I’ve had a good experience — and seeing how well it works for my sisters makes me feel confident recommending it.

Quality is superior
This is my first review for a reason but I’m going to rave about this product. I’m highly critical so I’ll give you the good and the criticism. This product really cleans your hair, is natural and clean….actually natural, works great for oily hair and does lather. If you’re looking for non toxic free hair products which is really hard to find that actually works buy this. It took me forever to find something like this. My hair looks healthier and light without stripping it of natural oils. Downside It’s hard to use a tiny amount for me and I’d recommend using it mainly on the scalp. It might be another story if you use a lot of chemical products in your hair but if you’re looking at this shampoo I doubt you use hair sprays or gels. The other down side is it is expensive but I don’t use any other hair products besides jojoba oil and the quality is superior to others. I know the price is high and I may just splurge and buy the bulk amount which I recommend after you try this. I think it works well for sensitive skin and this is due to its probiotic content which helps restore the scalps health. If you’re looking for healthy non toxic shampoo and are a hippie like me (I’m so picky about ingredients and also am a med student so I understand what is actually harmful and beneficial ingredients wise) then buy this one. There’s a lot of fake green bs online whose products are not what they seem and subpar and still expensive. This is expensive for a reason but actually delivers and works. It’s amazing!

Good Quality But Underwhelming
I’ve used pretty much the entire bottle so I’m ready to review. I’ve used several all-natural products and this one is similar to the rest: it’s only fine but not amazing. I shower every other day so my hair is pretty oily when I shower. I’ve found that it doesn’t lather well on the first wash when hair is oily; it lathers beautifully on the second wash though so plan to repeat if you have oily hair. It smells faintly of apple cider vinegar so the smell isn’t awful but it’s not super pleasant. I didn’t notice any improvement in oil management, which was the main hope I had for it. It got my hair clean and shiny, but at this price point I was underwhelmed.

So much better than I expected with long dry hair.
After finding out most shampoo is made from basically engine de-greaser I wanted to change it up. Having dry long hair that I do use h2o2 on several times a year to lighten it, I was concerned about it not being tangle free but I had the same amount of effort with this conditioner as I do with the treseme. My scalp loves this shampoo as well and I don't have to use a lot. I do use shampoo twice but just a palm full each time and it's great. The second shampoo has a super huge lather and gets all my hair. Very happy. Thank you for a great product!

HOLY GRAIL
Update after a few months of use: My scalp eventually became extremely itchy, inflamed and had a buildup like I’ve never seen. Even my eyebrows were flaking in the same way, which has never happened. My deep conditioner and oils no longer worked, which left my hair dry despite my scalp being almost moist all the time. I felt disgusting. I ordered the only other coconut-free shampoo that others in my coconut allergy group recommended (CKN). I didn’t expect much but literally it only took 1 wash for my hair and scalp to go back to normal. My hair was soft and moisturized from my deep conditioner, silky and frizz-free again - no longer moist and floaty-dry-frizzy (bleh!) Even my eyebrows are fine and not falling out anymore. My guess is this stuff caused a major buildup over time and it took some clarifying of another shampoo to help. Either way, I’ve switched to CKN orange shampoo. What a bummer but glad I figured out what was going on. Where to begin... I have dysautonomia and in the past years, I have developed severe allergies to random things. The number one thing- coconut and any related coconut derivatives. I also have raging seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp and eyebrows. If you are familiar with coconut allergies, you know that coconut is in literally in most foods, and pretty much all cosmetics and soaps, natural or not, use different forms of it. For the past few years, my scalp has been on fire with huge flakes. The areas where shampoo washes down when I shower break out in acne. My once-thick and healthy hair has thinned tremendously and is fragile to the point of breakage, even though it is undyed, unhighlighted, and I don't use much heat on it or over wash it. If you have a coconut allergy, you also know that there are only a handful of shampoos out there that are truly coconut-free, and it gets expensive to try different ones, only to have them destroy your already-fragile hair because they're so drying. My curly hair is extremely low porosity, so even though I condition like crazy, it never really takes, leading to more breakage. Coco-free shampoos and shampoo bars always make my hair feel like a mushy, stringy, sticky mess and it falls off in my hands from being so dried out. I completely gave up searching for a coco-free shampoo. I was managing my angry scalp with cortisone creams in between washes, because at least my hair wasn't breaking off from frizz and dryness anymore. I'd take an angry scalp and healthy hair over broken off hair and calmed scalp any day. (When I say breakage, I mean, many of my damaged hairs are now 2-3" when the length of my hair is down my back.) My husband realized I was still using product with something I was allergic to, and set out to find relief for me. He found this shampoo, and although I've tried literally every other one on the internet, even from small makers and homemade ones, I decided to give this one a shot because it had ingredients I'd never tried. It's fairly expensive, but if it helped, I didn't care. I hopped in the shower as soon as this stuff arrived. I took a leap of faith and had ordered the conditioner too, knowing full-well that no store-bought conditioner, low or high end, has been able to truly help my dry hair. I poured some in my hand and massaged into my wet hair. It didn't lather, so it was only enough to do the front half of my hair. As I went to get another pour, I realized the front-half of my head was cooled and relieved, while the back-half remained burning. I massaged the second pour into the back-half of my scalp... unreal. The relief was immediate. At the time, I didn't even know this stuff was for seborrheic dermatitis. I knew the true test was when I rinsed it out, though, because I'd be able to tell immediately if it was too drying. Unbelievably, it rinsed out easily. My hair did feel a smidge dry though, so I tested out the conditioner, knowing it would be a miracle for it to actually work, but worth a shot. Since the conditioner is also coco-free, I was able to put it all the way up to my scalp (something I def don't do with others since they contain it.) I let it sit for a few mins then rinsed, not expecting much and already prepared with a new deep conditioner I'd bought specifically to try and combat the shampoo I was sure would be breaking off my hair. As I rinsed, my hair felt SILKY. Not just detangled, but actually GOOD. I hopped out and scrunched my hair. My curls began to form on their own, something they hadn't done in years. My husband even commented on my voluminous, curly, shiny hair. The shampoo doesn't smell great, but the lemongrass conditioner more than makes up for that, and lingers beautifully. I never even needed to use the deep conditioner I had bought. It's been a week and I still haven't used it. My hair stays oil-free longer, but not dried out. It is soft and manageable and SHINY for the first time in a long time. It actually feels healthy and silky, and my scalp is nearly flake-free now. I'm dumbfounded at this shampoo and conditioner. I will gladly continue to pay the $40 total cost, as I can go longer without washing my hair (1-2 times a week for me) and estimate this stuff will last me 1.5 month. Totally worth it when I think about all the wasted money and products that didn't work for me in the past.
