GYN PA-C and Body-aware girl approved!!
I waited to write this until after three-four months of use, but I knew after the first use, that this was a game changer. I’m going to share my experience below as well. I’m at an advantage knowing pelvic anatomy, but knowing where your pubic bone is and what it feels like is the name of the game. The disc tucks up right underneath your pubic bone and then stays in by sitting on top of it. Just as in the instructions. (Videos and diagrams can help you orient yourself.) This is what keeps the disc right in place. Once you can identify how surprisingly “shallow” your pubic bone is to your V, it should slip right into place. I inserted it for the first time completely distracted and it went perfectly into place. I didn't struggle at all. I highly recommend a water-based lube, or my fav, coconut oil, to make the insertion a little easier. After inserting it for the first time (has never happened since), I experienced the mildest form of light headedness, similar to what I experienced during an IUD insertion. This can be normal and it’s called a vasovagal reaction. I just sat and waited until it passed and I was all set to go for 12 hours. Again, it hasn’t happened since the first time, I attribute part of it to jitters. Wearing it during the day was luxurious, I feel it less than a tampon. Genuinely, I don’t feel it at all. There’s no string that can cause irritation, and I was never worried about leakage. No odor. No concerns in a bathing suit. Admittedly, Ive forgotten it was even in and was late for draining. The only time i even think about it is when I'm putting it in or taking it out. By far the best, most comfortable, and most reliable period product I've tried. I still experience the same amount of cramping as I did before, but I’ve heard of others saying it helped theirs. That’s not my experience unfortunately. Removal….. this can absolutely be scary, and I even got worried myself the first time. It’s best to do it in the shower. The self emptying on the toilet works, I just prefer avoiding the mess entirely and time my showers. In my experience, there is some suctioning. The best advice I can give during removal is to remain relaxed and not tense up your body. If you can’t get it out the first few tries, do some breathing and go at it once you get your body relaxed and your confidence back up. It’s designed to come out and it will. Finding the lip on the disc may require some spinning. For me, the best way I have found to remove is getting down in a half squat position, feeling the lip of the disc, hooking it with your finger, and BEARING DOWN. I used all caps because mine does not come out without bearing down. Finding your pubic bone is helpful for this step as well because you won’t get the disc out by forcing against your bone, it has to glide around it. Once it’s out I rinse in the hot shower water and put it back in. I boil it prior to each period. There’s a technique with this product and every body is different, but I hope my experience can help someone else. There’s a learning curve to it, but I promise it’s worth the investment of your time and money. I haven’t picked up a tampon since using this product, and I’ve put a couple of my coworkers on it as well (they also love it). Other thoughts: - From an infection standpoint, this product seems much better to use than something that can harbor bacteria more easily, like tampons. - The disc may offer some help in women with mild urinary incontinence. I have occasional bladder spasms and I haven’t had one since using the disc. - I am not a doctor, and if you do have other inquiries, it’s always best to consult YOUR doctor. All in all, this is BY FAR my favorite period product and I will not be going back to anything else.

If you’re scared to try it, don’t be.
I’ve been a tampon user since I got my first period at age 11, as I got older I got diagnosed with pcos which means inconsistent periods and sometimes they’re light and last 3 days and sometimes it’s like the scene in the 80s horror film “Carrie”, and with them being at random it’s difficult for me to remember to keep a tampon supply especially since I have to get the variety pack with various absorbency. I’m 32 now and finally had the courage to try out this disc. I read about cups verses discs and the cups relying on suction and also hanging out in the canal made me uneasy so I went with a disc. I have a narrow set pelvis and a low cervix so I opted for the small one (the pink/coral color is the small) and it is a GAME CHANGER. It’s definitely weird to put in and take out, because it’s something new for me, but it’s easy to install and remove and stays in place, no leaking, no spilling, and honestly there’s no blood smell like you still get with tampons on occasion. If you’re reading reviews and googling and using ChatGPT to get a real opinion, look no further. I’ve noticed if for some reason I’m having a hard time gripping it to get out i just do a little kegal and grab and pull it out at the same time and TA DA it’s out. I’m less aware of this disc than I ever have been with tampons. Worth the money, worth the uncomfortable feelings of trying something new. 10/10.

GREAT if you have a hypertonic pelvic floor/pelvic floor hypertonicity
The Saalt disc has been an absolute game changer for me. I have a hypertonic pelvic floor (increased muscle tone of the pelvic floor muscles). I’ve done physical therapy for it several times but it is just a chronic issue for me. Because of the increased muscle tone, I’m unable to use tampons because they cause a lot of pain. I also get chronic BV (bacterial vaginosis) and tampons are a huge culprit for me. I HATE wearing pads, so period underwear was my solution for a long time. They’re a great option and I still use them off and on. I just personally wanted to try to find something that could contain the blood IN my body, like a tampon. I heard about menstrual cups and discs and wanted to give them a shot. Cup vs Disc I tried the cup first as it seemed the easiest to use. For me personally, it didn’t matter the size (S,M,L) of the cup, it was just too big. I could constantly feel it, and because of my HPF it caused pain. I researched and most women say they can’t feel it at all, and that the little “tail” that hangs out like a tampon string should not be felt. Because of my increased muscle tone, things are a bit…tight…down there, and I could feel the tail of cup. Next I tried the disc. I was pretty intimidated since there isn’t any kind of tail to gel pull out the disc once it is inserted. I didn’t understand how I’d be able to find it! Being honest, the first couple times you just have to get REAL personal with yourself. The Saalt disc came with instructions and there were some instructional videos that I found in their website as well, and I just tried to mess around with it and see what works best. For me, inserting it while sitting on the toilet works best. I just fold it in half and make sure the finger notch is at the front, and Insert it until I can feel it behind my pubic bone. If it’s where it’s supposed to be I don’t feel it at all! When it’s time to remove it I just slide my finger up to where I can find the notch, bear down like I’m trying to poop, and that causes the muscles to push it forward to where I can hook my finger in the notch and remove it. It’s honestly really easy once you get used to it. Since using the Saalt Disc I have so much more confidence around my time of the month. I use the pink disc, which is the small one, because I have not had children. It seems to be the perfect fit for me. I’ve never had any leaks. I have even put it to the test and used it while having sex, and STILL no leaks! Certain positions were uncomfortable with it in, but effective communication with my partner made it to where we could both enjoy the process. The disc is easy to clean, compact, and I’ve been using the same one for over a year now. I’m about to replace it just because I feel like it’s time. I’ve been using the Saalt disc/cup wash that you can purchase, and I’ve had very good luck with it. Since I’m replacing my old disc though, I’m going to try out the Saalt cup steam sterilizer and see how I like it! Long story short, if you have any of the same health issues that I do, OR if you want to try it for mess free period sex, I highly recommend the Saalt Disc. It’s been a game changer in my life and in my relationship.

Love this disc!!
Very easy to put in. I think I got the wrong size, but I still would prefer it over tampons. The only thing is it stains and it’s hard to get the stains out. Overall, love this disc!!

The packaging appeared to have been opened before I received it, the instruction manual inside was placed in a different direction, which seems weird to me.

I have attempted to use a cup for 2 cycles and just couldn’t get to grips with it. It was uncomfortable and would leak. I also have IUD, so using a cup made me super nervous about displacing my IUD. I have tried the Salt disc for a few days so far and it’s really easy to use. The finger grip on the disc is really useful and reassuring. The disc is soft but still firm enough to keep its shape when inserted. I was apprehensive about using a disc because of its size, it seemed so daunting to have to position. But it’s been great, once I figured out how to insert it the best way for me and my anatomy, it’s not leaked at all. It’s super comfy. I highly recommend trying the salt disc if you’re struggling to use a cup. Also Reddit is great for advice on all things disc if you’re struggling

Prinzipiell ok, aber die Auslassung zum Entfernen funktioniert überhaupt nicht, die hätte man weglassen können.
