This magnet is quite powerful and VERY handy in the craft/sewing room. Needles, pins, bits of clipped wire, etc.... Are easily picked up from our medium pile rug. If you drop a needle it's so easy to find with a wave of this one the area. I spilled a box of pound and it easily picked them all up. Great help!

The media could not be loaded. The handle feels sturdy and extends well. It's good for picking up nails and small stuff but it's marketed as a 35lb magnet and they even have a video of it lifting a 35lb plate. But when i tested it on a 10lb, 25lb, and 35lb plate it only lifted the 10lb. The 25lb and 35lb were from a different brand so there is a possibility that could be why but it did attach to them and moved them slightly so it's definitely metal. If you want it for nails and small stuff it's a good deal but if you want it for heavier things look for one with a stronger magnet.

At first sight it looked sturdy. It's not at all what the ad says, it won't pick up 30lbs at all. it barley pick up a 2lb piece of metal. I used it approximately 10 mins today and went to try and pick up the same 2lbs piece of metal again and the magnet came right off the stick. So I am returning it. I'm very disappointed I really liked forward to getting it and bragged about it when I got to work with my co workers and very disappointed when it wouldn't do what the ad said and then broke on 2lbs. There only thing it is good for is a mirror.
