I am happy to reports that it is a solid choice in terms of giving my laptop the protection that it needs. It is made of a softer feel plastic that has an embossed texture on the outside which gives the feel and look of leather. The die cut fits well over the Apple logo of the laptop and looks great with the black matte color over the black shinny Apple logo. It does add quit a bit of thickness to the laptop. It does not cover any of the plugs as indicated by some other reviewers. It replaces another translucent hard plastic casing, also purchased from Amazon, that cracked in two corners in 6 months. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing value, excellent fit *by S***N on April 7, 2018* Really nice MacBook Pro case!These guys really did a nice job designing a nice leather feel case thats protective enough to satisfy my needs as well as having a pretty sleek design. I've read a couple reviews on here complaining about the case being a fairly loose fit, specifically the top of the case lifting up, however I haven't experienced any of these issues. In fact, mine snapped in nice and tight and doesn't budge at all, making for a very nice fit overall. The apple logo cutout is also a very nice addition to the design factor of this case.Satisfied with this purchase and couldn't have been happier with the price, way better than most of the competition out there. Highly recommend this! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Value, Nice Appearance *by P***0 on October 2, 2019* I recently took the plunge and purchased a new (2019) MacBook Pro to replace my 2014 model. I had used another more expensive shell previously (which I had to replace due to breakage, so over $100 spent for shells), and thought that I'd try something less expensive this time around since these things don't last forever.I'm impressed with the fit and finish of this shell. It went on easily but seems very secure, and the black "leather" finish gives something to grab onto when pulling out of my briefcase or backpack. The texture is MUCH better than a smooth shell - especially when trying to remove from a bag on an airplane. Tight quarters can sometimes compromise your grip (as can arthritis for us old farts) so having some texture and friction when grasping helps.The reason for only 4 stars is that the newer MAcBook Pros have a larger trackpad, so your hands tend to sit wider on the laptop when typing. The molded clips that snap onto the base of the MacBook sit about .75" on either side of the trackpad and tend to irritate either the palm of my hand or my wrist when using the trackpad or keyboard, respectively. It's finished nicely, but the clips still have sharp corners, thus the irritation.Other than that one small gripe (which can probably be lessened with a nail file or Dremel tool), this is a good, inexpensive way to protect your expensive investment.
