Do these have a zipper at the ankle?

They are straight leg. No zipper or elastic.

My son wears a size 14/16 and on the husky size, would XL be too big?

Not sure if they would work. They fit my son perfectly and hes very tall and slim. I'm sorry not the answer you were probably hoping for. 😔

Do they have fleece on the inside?

No they do not, they are a thin mesh style. When held up to the light you can see through them through the little holes. (When held straight up with both front and back sides it's harder to see the light). Video is single layer taken from the front with the back of the pants hanging down a little bit. I got these for my son for Christmas and I unfortunately have to return them because he doesn't like the mesh style. :/

What is the inseam length of the small and medium size?

Hi there - not sure the inseam length on these. But these pants don’t last long. Holes in the legs and pockets rip, my son wore to school this past winter and they didn’t even last a few months. Would not buy again
