Pros: - The labeled GPIO pad that goes into the breadboard is much simpler than separate jumper wires directly to the Pi. You can also disconnect it as a whole to alter the breadboard. - Well done tutorials in C and Python. You have to download these and could in fact use them without the kit. But then you would have to order all the components on your own. Note: the purpose of the tutorials is not to teach electronics; it is to learn how to use the Pi GPIO. - Lots of components to experiment with almost every aspect of the Pi GPIO including simple IO, SPI, I2C, PWM, motors, LCD displays, pots, etc. There is a tutorial for each. Cons: - The breadboard itself is very low quality (the reason for only 4 stars). It does not hold the thin lead resistors well at all. I ordered a separate breadboard. - The C tutorials use wiringPi which is now deprecated. However, I had no trouble converting them to pigpio C interface. - The case is useless. It comes tightly packed in a little box.
