Rear Tailgate Lock Actuator Replacement for FJ Cruiser 2007-2014 69110-35071 69110-35070

I used this to replace the broken tailgate lock mechanism on my 2007 Toyota FJ. It seems to be a little heavier constructed than the OEM component and works well. The replacement process is pretty straightforward. Takes about twenty minutes total provided you are not interrupted by phone calls, spouses, children, pets, neighbors, etc. If you spray some type of penetrating oil on the outside fasteners the day before or even an hour before it will make the replacement a little easier. Read/watch instructions on-line before starting (search Toyota FJ rear tailgate latch replacement or similar phrase for videos). It is a fairly easy replacement.

Installed in 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Easy to install. Quality is comparable to original and the install is straightforward and simple. Remove three torx screws on the inside edge of the door, remove the interior tailgate door trim, peel back the weather sheeting and the connection arm is right there. Replacement took 15 minutes. The rear tailgate now functions as it should and latches smoothly. One quarter the price of the OEM part, and I expect it is durable enough to last.

Looks quality, but arrived with small broken off pieces in plastic in the bag, thankfully none of the places it broke look to be important, but well find out when i go to instal

It was working, but the length of the arm was little short, so i used the arm of my old part

Was a little skeptical buying a non Toyota part, but so far it has held up really well, been installed 9 months. Numerous lock and open cycles. Easy install as well.
