I believe it worked!
We have a pair of 6 month old kittens from the same litter who are closely bonded. They are great friends and love to play together. We had recently had the male neutered. He had recently recovered, and been released from his "cone of shame" when we had his sister spayed. She was wearing a soft cone that we had gotten from the vet, so she wouldn't be able to get at her incision. We were told by the vet that her activity had to be very restricted for the first several days after her surgery, and, of course, her incision had to be protected. Since she and her brother like to play rough, we figured we would need to keep her separated for at least the first day or two post-surgery, and watch them carefully after that to make sure they didn't get too crazy, and no one got after her incision. Naturally, the evening of the day she had her surgery, when I opened the door where we were confining her to check on her and spend some time visiting, her brother and our older cat both got into her room. I figured I would let them visit her, and see how it went. They were being sweet and calm, and, after the requisite sniffing was out of the way, they just kind of hung out in the room with us. (Her brother didn't appear disturbed by the cone, and even groomed her face a bit. He didn't act at all weird around her, or like he didn't know her.) At bedtime, of course, my husband and I had to remove the other cats from our girl's room, since we couldn't really supervise them while we were sleeping, and she still needed to be activity-restricted. We already had a couple of Feliway diffusers, one with the Optimum formula, and one with the Classic formula, since we had had to separate the boy for a bit both before and after his neutering, which made no one happy. Sometime during the night, the girl had gotten her soft cone inverted, so it was kind of down around her shoulders instead of around her head. Her brother completely freaked out when he saw her that morning at breakfast. He hissed and looked big and acted like we had a strange cat in the house. It was really weird. I thought maybe it was because the cone was inverted, so I flipped it up so that it was back around her head, like it had been the evening before. Nope. He was still treating her like she was a stranger and a threat. I had a recovery suit I had purchased for her, so we put that on her and took the cone off, to see if it made any difference. No joy; he was still being weird, and we were concerned he might hurt her, so we had to separate them again. We tried periodically letting them interact again to see if he would get over it. Still no joy. By the evening of the second day, I was very concerned. He was not "getting over it". He actually hid under the bed during playtime and treat time that evening. She seemed to have her feelings hurt that her brother was treating her this way, and her seemed very anxious and stressed. (He is already an anxious kitty - thus the other Feliway diffusers we already had running.) I decided I needed to try the Feliway Multicat formula to see if it might help. Of course, I realized this an hour too late to pick up a vial at my local pet supply store, but I was able to order one on Amazon for delivery the next morning. The package came on time, and, shortly after I got up, I brought it in, and plugged in the Multicat vial. Over the course of the day, our boy seemed to gradually calm down. I wouldn't say he was interacting with his sister normally yet, but he was not acting like he was afraid of her, or treating her like a stranger, any longer. As long as we had to separate them at night or when we were out, he would be weird again for a few minutes when they were together again in the morning, but he would get over it pretty quickly. We're now a week out from her surgery, and, even though she's still in the recovery suit for a few more days, her brother is back to treating her like a member of the family, and not like we brought some kind of alien in the house. Sanity has been restored. I knocked a star off on value for money because the refill vials are expensive, almost as expensive as buying a new diffuser kit. I don't think the refill vials should be that expensive. It doesn't provide much incentive to buy a refill, vs. throwing away the diffuser and just buying a new kit when you need one. Not very economical, nor environmentally friendly, Feliway. I would have knocked off a couple of stars on value for money, but Amazon was offering the vial at a discounted price, and the product did work. These products are expensive, and I hope not to need them indefinitely, but, they did help us and our kitties get through a crisis.

haven't had to throw cats out of the bedroom since I started using this (no more fights!)
Finally, I have found the product I was looking for. I think the folks at my vet's office were not clear on the differences between this Multi-Cat version and the regular Feliway, because I kept buying the regular Feliway there (upon staff recommendation) and it was not exactly what my cats needed. I could notice some changes in their behavior (for the better), and it helped more than the Comfort Zone product (which, by my understanding, uses a different concentration of pheromone and a slightly different temperature for heating). But my calico cat was still stressing about my recently-adopted kitten (well, he's one year old now, and he's a holy terror). The calico cat has asthma and the stress was making her condition worse (and don't worry, she has seen the vet about this and we are working on transitioning to an inhaler). Anyway, it's been like a night and day difference since I started using the Multi-Cat version. We haven't had to throw any cats out of the bedroom all week; they sleep peacefully in their various chosen spots. That is a huge deal! I'm seeing fewer chases, fewer fights, etc. Even the kitten has calmed down a little bit. I have some fairly old CEVA diffusers. I believe they came with the regular Feliway, but they work with the Multi-Cat version as well. Please note that there was a period of time when CEVA changed the diffuser style (this was a year or two ago, or maybe a bit more). This was not popular with consumers and there may have been other issues as well, so they changed back to the original style. If you buy a new diffuser, it should work with this refill. If you have one of the interim style of diffusers, you should probably just get a new one because I doubt they will go back to making refills that fit them. I have two of these plugged in, one in the master bathroom (where I have cat beds in a sunny spot around the tub) and master bedroom (where most of the cats -- I have 5 -- spend most of their day, sleeping). I feel that between the two of them, I get good coverage of the area where my kitties spend most of their time. Please note that you will need to plug the diffuser directly into the wall, where it can be upright, for best results. I have never had any safety issues with mine, nor do I notice any smell. Please also note that this listing is for the refill only and does not come with the diffuser. You will need to purchase a diffuser separately, or buy one of the starter kits and then transition to these when your original pheromone solution runs out. Overall, though, this has been absolutely wonderful. Very glad to have finally realized the difference and to have tried it.

This was a game changer for our household!
I was skeptical when I purchased 2 diffusers but I was willing to do anything to help transition a new kitty into our home. I have a year old outdoor rescue, at 8 weeks, no mom or litter mates in site. He is very needy. He is soo loving and you can feel it, but I felt he needed a sister/brother and wanted that transition to happen smoothly and continue to. After finding our new kitty, followed all the steps to introduce them. Everything went so well! I was thrilled! As time went on I noticed moments of major tension and anger not only towards the new kitty but towards me as well. Scary lash outs, like a wild animal. It made me very nervous for our new kitty’s safety. After researching, and talking with my vet, we came to the conclusion our first cat has abandonment issues, and basically doesn’t want to share my affection/attention with the new kitty. My vet suggested the optimum formula first, I tried for 2 months and saw a significant change in the first cat. I forgot about changing the refill the first month and noticed him getting a little more aggressive and that’s when I realized omg need new refill asap. I changed to multicat just because there is no issues with the litter box, or going outside of it, they aren’t excessively scratching. I felt the motherly description of the multicat formula was more suiting for my situation. And almost total 6 months using this product, I whole heartedly would recommend this to any cat owner. My first cat will always have those moments, he can’t help that, but Feliaway helps those moments be more calm and way less aggressive in a sense that it ends up in innocent play and the new kitty chases him. They are so much more vocal, always chirping to each other. Only reason I can not give it five stars is that I feel that the refills only last 17-21 days. I never made it past 23 days of a refill. So just watch those refills, they are consistent in timing. I have 2 and they both are empty between 17-21 days. More cost over all in a year, I believe. There is no smell. Also needs to be in an unoccupied plug, both sockets. It plugs in the bottom and you can’t have anything plugged in the top. Pets love is unlike any other, the most true, and a happy home was achieved with Feliaway multicat! Thank you for your product!

Holy moly this stuff is worth every penny
Listen, we can’t function without these. I have 4 cats. One of them bites the newest one. We’ve had the newest one, Lemon, for 2 years and he would still pick on her. This is the only way I can get some peace in our home. I can even tell when it’s time to replace it. He starts bothering her. I simply put a new refill in and then we go back to a happy home. I now buy them in a 3 pack because I never want to run out. This is so good if you have more than one cat and one of them is aggressive.

Happy Cats = Happy Home
We have been using these for several years now after the vet recommended them for our multi-cat household as one cat in particular was having some anxiety and territorial issues. There is no scent to these which is nice so it doesn't interfere with any existing home scents. Very unassuming appearance, pet friendly, just plugs into an outlet of your choice. Color is very neutral so it doesn't stand out. None of our cats showed any allergies or adverse reactions to them in fact, after about three weeks we started to notice a difference in how the cats were interacting with each other. There was also a decrease in inappropriate urination. All that said, I would say that these are definitely effective to a point and are a good addition to any home that is trying to create peace for it's furry residents. I haven't had any issues with these however I do notice from time to time they get a little warm to the touch, which from what I've read, is normal.

Keep the pet from consuming the liquid and unable to bite the diffuser.
I'm not sure if this product works as it's supposed to, but it seems to. We saved a 5 kitten litter on their first day from our window well. We noticed and read that if they are away from each other, at a vet for instance, they smell like the vet office and all the other cats at the vets, such that when they get home the other cats smell this as it's the primary way dog's and cats, and probably all other animals know one another. The foreign smells cause fear and they react by warning the supposed unknown intruder by hissing and potentially fighting. After quite some time that the initial feliway product we purchased was empty our sibling cats started fighting one another, usually it was our two largest and strongest males fighting for alpha status (dominance). Remember that in the wild almost all cats are solitary. The only exception are lions which live in a pride. So with multiple cats we're putting them in a position to deny their nature. So we bought some more, and it seemed to have cured the problem. Now that supply has been depleted, so as a test it further, we're going to wait a while to see if they start having fights again. At which time we'll buy some more as a means to be sure. To those that said the product made their pets sick, I'll provide you with some thoughts. Apparently to eat the product is said to make one sick or possibly die. In all homes, at least in America, probably 90 some percent of all electrical outlets are approximately 12 inches above the floor, which is easily close enough to the floor to be reached by common pets like dogs and cats. The product is supposed to be vaporized into the air by heating it up so as to do so. Being a college student taking basic chemistry, I know that heat can chemically change a mixture into something else. As a vapor breathed in, it may be made to be harmless to pets and humans, so that's the way to deliver it, NOT to be consumed and travel through the digestive tract. We use a surge protector that we've double sided taped high on the wall so that the cats can't reach it to lick it. Our cats have never gotten sick like some of you have reported. If you care to do this make sure it's the thicker foam type double sided tape that's about an inch wide, because it conforms to irregular surfaces much more readily. Thus won't become detached as easily. After a year and a half ours still hangs there. Also attach it to the surge protector along it's entire length, because the more tape the better the hold. And don't put it too close to the ceiling because the diffuser will deposit the vapor as an oily residue on it. The one, or maybe more, person/s complained that the diffuser dripped the liquid on the floor. It was because she had it upside down. Understand that the tube inside the bottle of liquid is a siphon, it sucks up the fluid and heats it to turn it into a vapor. How else could the vial last a month, it's designed to siphon thus dispense at a certain rate. You don't have to be a physics major, just understand basic physics. And high on the wall makes more sense because it's common sense that what goes up, must come down. And the dispersion in a room will be greater the higher the source. I can't attest to the fact that it's safe to use, as I'm neither a scientist nor do I have a chemistry lab at my disposal. We have to trust the manufacturer, hoping they have truly vetted their compound, to ensure it's safe in the long term. As human money making ventures often care more about the money, than they do about their customers well being. Just look at all the chemicals they put in human food to improve it's looks, taste and shelf life, that have been found to be unhealthy, despite those supposed authorities that have said otherwise. So because we're still testing it's effectiveness we're only giving it 3 stars. Once we're reasonably sure it is in fact working as advertised, we'll revise our rating.

It's working
We got an inrductory kit and it seems to be making a difference. Our timid cat must have been excessively grooming herself in private, or so we think. The fur on her back half sides was thin and the vet thought the hair follicles were being licked off. After we started using this the fur has come back. This is our timid cat that mostly avoids human contact. Our other cat is outgoing and friendly. We got both cats at 6-8 weeks of age from a colony. There's a good chance they are of different parents. Dunno. This stuff is pricey but is probably worth it.

Easy and effective
Super easy to install and use. Having one per room has helped reduce mild tension between my cats. I never smell or hear anything coming from these.
