No, it isn't any better than the original part that stops working -- it's the same thing with the same problem. Even with hundreds -- perhaps thousands -- of negative reviews about this sprayer, all across the Internet, Moen just keeps on selling this rather worthless piece of garbage. Usually, it will get stuck in the "spaying" position, and then you have to resort to extreme measures (I would beat on it with a rubber mallet) to return your sink faucet to normal operating position. And no, I have never found a third-party sprayer that would just screw onto the Moen hose fitting that this screws onto. So, if you want to replace the sprayer, rather than replace the entire hose and sprayer system, you pretty much have to get one of these. The real problem is that this is all rather cheap plastic, and it doesn't hold up to regular usage for more than a few months. Most likely, one of these will not work for more than a year before it gets stuck in the "spraying" position. HOWEVER, the key to "fixing the problem" is to get something like "KEZE Silicone Grease with PTFE (Food Grade)" -- it's fairly easy to unscrew this sprayer from its hose -- you don't even have to turn the water off -- and take it apart. Pay attention to how everything fits together, so you can put it back together again. Or, you can find articles and videos on the Internet that will show you how it goes together. Otherwise, just take it apart, pulling the "piston" part out of the assembly -- it has a couple of black "O rings" that you should lubricate as best you can with the silicone grease. Use a paper towel or something to wipe most of the grease away, leaving some on there for the actual lubrication, then put everything back together and screw it back onto the hose fitting. BINGO -- it should work again. I never noticed any kind of "build up" in my sprayer, but a bit of lubrication certainly got it working again, just fine. I'm writing this only a few weeks since I lubricated mine, so I don't know how long it will continue to work, but presumably a quick lubrication every now and then will keep these things working. FINALLY, in regards to the "color" or "finish" of this thing -- "Stainless" indeed matched what I would call the "brushed nickel" finish of my Moen faucet. "Chrome" is the color for the typical kind of shiny silver finish, then Moen has colors for black, white, and a few other odd finishes. In the end, I got one of these so I could get my kitchen faucet system functioning properly, and then I started trying to figure out how to get the old one working again. The button takes a long your to release, causing me to lay the sprayer down in the sink so we don’t get sprayed with water the next time someone turns the faucet on! Water doesn’t come out of our faucet once the sprayer is turned on.
