The product is thick enough to provide the insulation for heat as well as cold temperatures for exceeding 1.5 hours. **Q: How do the pans not get smashed?** A: It's incredibly sturdy. It seems almost like styrofoam but it's so many times more solid. **Q: What's the max temperature it can handle without melting?** A: I'm not sure, but I had four pans at about 200 degrees, and it had zero issues at all with them.
