I am pleased with this cherry pitter - it costs a little more than it should but it is robust and well made. I use it every day to pit olives which it does easily with practice. There is definitely a knack to it. With the olive stem-end down and aligned exactly under the metal skewer the pit slides out without minimal effort. Even a few millimeters off and it takes two hands to force it out. The tool is easy to wash. Do be careful of the little grey lever sticking out of the back, don't push-it, pull-it when the handles are squeezed together and they stay together for storage. Nice.

This is a brilliant tool. Works really well, but if your apples a bit wonky you'll get a small amount of core to trim out. Also chips potatoes into wedges.

I like this and it's easy to use but would benefit from having a loop by shich you could hang it.

After wasting way too much time looking at these and always landing on reviews and pictures of ones that fall apart I am so glad I just ordered this one. It is sturdy and well made! Good ol' OXO!

This is so easy to use with an good shaped grip. I wish I had got one sooner instead of digging out the hull with a knife, and when my other half prepared strawberries, half of it was in the bin as he couldn't be bothered to hull them so just cut the top quarter to half off the strawberry, depending how big the leaves were. That's why I bought this as he was so wasteful. This makes it so much quicker to prepare strawberries. It even removes the leaves, and it doesn't take half the strawberry with it. It just need a quick swish off to clean it, so I don't know why people are putting it in the dishwasher and having it fail, it's just lazy. I don't put anything like this in the dishwasher as it only takes seconds to ckean.

This does the job and slices apples cleanly, but I wouldn’t bet on it lasting forever. I bought it to replace a Joie one that survived about five years of solid service, so expectations were already set quite high. I can see this lasting maybe a year with normal daily use. But if you’re putting it through its paces — nursery workers, childminders, or anyone demolishing apples like it’s their full-time job — I’d skip plastic and go straight for metal. The plastic casing here is thick and feels sturdy, but the blades are metal set into plastic, and over time that just feels like a “something’s going to give” situation. I actually returned this after a week or two when I stumbled across a replacement in one of those unnamed bargain shops with the legendary middle aisle. Full metal jacket. No nonsense. The sort of thing you could probably core an apple and fend off an intruder with. £3.99. So if you need something immediately and don’t happen upon a bargain unicorn, this is fine for light or occasional use. But if you eat ten apples a day, do yourself a favour and get the heavy, bulky, indestructible metal beast. Your apples won’t stand a chance.

Simple and efficient product. Used it for a larger batch of cherries and now during the holidays for some green olives I accidentally bought with pits. Would recommend.

It’s sturdy, easy to clean and helped us to put a lot of sour cherries with very little effort. Pleased with purchase and may buy another for next years harvest.
