Once you've removed the three screws that attach the camera body to the wall mount (which, by the way, are sealed with silicone caulk, so be prepared to reapply your own caulk to keep it water-tight), the cable harness will have to be detached from the small circuit board under the lid. Snip the two small zip ties and unscrew the ground wire. Then remove the small harness connector from the circuit board. Pull this end of the cable harness through the wall mount and then fish it back through both parts of the ceiling mount before you reattach it to the circuit board. Then put the three screws back in through the lid (which has the smaller holes), making sure that the rubber gasket underneath remains seated as you tighten the screws. This is no small feat. If you think you are able to do all of that, then buy this mount. It fits great and makes this camera way easier to install under the eaves of your house (flush mounted on the soffit), rather than hanging off of the wall (which is really only practical if you have a newly constructed house and can fish the ethernet cable before the siding goes on the house). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works just fine as is stable. *by M***E on September 1, 2022* In spite of what you might read, this mount is rock steady, stable and works 100%. It has no instructions. The FIRST one I did, I began disassembling the entire damned camera until I realized I was screwing up. The first one took me an hour and the 2nd one took me like 5min. On the 823A it's waaay easier than you think. The original wall mount has three screws on the top that you CANNOT see because they are sealed with silicone caulking (for the IP rating I suppose). Extract that with, whatever, and expose the three philips heads screw beneath it. Undo those, cut the two zip-ties, unscrew the ground screw and unplug the cable from the header on the pcb and pull it through. Then reverse the procedure. Zip ties arent a must - but I had some. Replacement caulking/sealant isn't a must, but certainly a consideration; if you have it on this mount - you're mounting to something overhead that's protecting it from liquid incursion anyway.. In the end you have a rock solid mount that does exactly what you wanted it to do.
