I bought this before Hurricane Helene. I get strong winds at my place in general so I’ve been curious just how high the winds get. Honestly the wind speeds here exceeded my ability to count the little red scoop turns after ~ 30 mph, but at least I could learn it’s time to remove items from my deck that could fly around. I had tied it pretty firmly to my deck but eventually the wind blew the thing apart and broke it. It lasted several years of abuse so I couldn’t expect more than this from a child’s anemometer. Meanwhile I had fun with it as an adult. Honestly, it lasted longer than I expected it to.

As advertised and really cool looking! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Only issue is with the instructions. No way to get actual wind speed! ⭐⭐ Very interesting information about wind, convection and the Coriolis force. Lots about counting rotations but nowhere does it show how to get actual wind speed only numbers for comparison. ⭐Come on Eisco you're a science company, give us the formula.⭐ PLEASE 🙂 Update 8/20/25 no response from seller 🤐 was hoping they would send me a conversion chart or web site or something. Makes me think they don't read their reviews . . . still cool and fun to watch but I'm changing the rating to ⭐ since all it really is a cute whirly gig . . .

At first, I bought this as a joke. Who needs to know the wind speed inside their house? But then… it started whispering to me. Every time the fan oscillates, the cups spin, and I hear secrets carried on the breeze. Yesterday, the anemometer told me my neighbor’s WiFi password. Today, it warned me about a rogue tumbleweed. Tomorrow? Who knows. All I know is I am now the chosen keeper of air currents. Worth every penny.
