Review: This is a great fogger when used for mold control - This is a great fogger when used for mold control. If you do not want to read the Mold testing methodology below, I would recommend using Mr Clean – Multipurpose Cleaner over much more expensive and less effective chemicals such as Concrobium (https://smile.desertcart.com/gp/product/B009AN7Y2U/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The House Environment: I bought a Fix-er-upper 3000sq' home from the early 1900's that had a large quantity of standing water in the basement and was shut up and abandoned for about a year. Needless to say, every surface in the basement was covered in many different colors of mold and mildew that was starting to creep up the inside of the wet walls (Balloon frame, very open walls with high airflow pulling from basement to attic area). **Water was drained, and old wood debris and ruined furniture removed from basement before testing. Commercial dehumidifiers were used to drop humidity to around 50%, and removed before testing the fogger** -- ** PPE MUST be work when using this device and chemicals, I wore a “Bunny Suit” and approved respirator.** Fogger function: I bought this fogger and several gallons of concrobium. The fogger on its highest setting was placed in the basement and was able to create a dense fog that coated every surface in the basement, as well as allow the house to "breath" the fog into the walls and all the way up to the attic. I kid you not, after the basement was foggy with 2 gallons of Concrobium I went to carry it up to the attic for fogging and it was already dense up there on the 3rd floor. The air on the 1st floor was dense, the 2nd floor was not as foggy and was fogged separately with about 1/2 a gallon. Concrobium – Apx $35 / gal: The Concrobium wasn’t as effective as I had hoped, I left the residence and sealed it returning periodically to where the fog lasted for about 3 hours. I let the house sit for a week and inspected the Mold. (It is worth mentioning that Concrobium will not remove mold and mildew stains on it’s own.) The mold that was all different colors, persisted to stay colored, where it should have turned black or brown. The few test spots of mold that I scraped the fluffy bits off of continued to grow. I repeated the above with another week of letting the house rest. The mold was only mildly reduced, which might have been mostly caused by the drop in humidity. Fairly disappointing. **I began testing various cleaners / chemicals in a garden sprayer with the mold directly. Skip to the best one:** Mr Clean – Multipurpose Cleaner (Meadows & Rain Scent) from Walmart. – Apx $6 / gal: Repeated the same steps as the Concrobium above but with much more positive results. This cleaner not only smells good (after allowing time for proper ventilation) but it actually kills Mold and Mildew pretty much on contact, which the fogger can easily achieve. The colored Mold all turned either Black or Brown and became easy to wipe off after fogging from hard surfaces. The floor joists, which are not spotless and very absorbent (100-year-old Oak and Pine beams), do have visible reduction in mold as well as no new blooms! Fast forward several months and this is still my go to chemical after a hard rain where the basement will start getting a light must smell.
Review: quality seems to be good - This machine worked well for what it's designed to do. I used it on low output which fogged up a gallon of solution in about 45 minutes. I then ran a full tank of clean water trough it as a precaution in cleaning outside.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can these be used with a pesticide like Talstar and fired off in a closed garage to kill roaches and spiders? Sort of like a can fogger?**
A: From the Talstar P label: "Do not apply by air or with hand held or truck mounted cold aerosol ULV sprayers and thermal fogging devices."
So the answer to your question for Talstar specifically, is NO, however there are other similar products you can use with it. Just check the product label, most of which are easily found online.

**Q: Is Concorbium Mold Control a good product to use in this fogger for basement mold control? Is there another recommendation?>**
A: Actually, yes, I think so. That's what we used for the purpose purchased. In our case, it was my daughter's car. Her HVAC drain had gotten plugged so water built up in all the vents for a long period. After the drain was unplugged, we used this awesome beast to fog the Concordium into the systems intake vents under the hood. Seems to have done the job.My secondary reason for buying the fogger was to fog my basement that is moldy. Haven't done that yet.Be aware that the name "fogger" may be a bit of a misnomer. It's more of a "mister". In other words, it's not going to gradually fog your precious gallon of Concordium into your basement over a long period of time. Rather, it makes a nice mist that you will need to walk around your cellar and aim generally into the moldy zones. It's enough of a mist that if you aim it, will nicely spread around over quite an area. But, if you just set it on the floor in the middle of the cellar, it will do the middle of the cellar. And, it goes through the tank of stuff in a fairly short period of time. After two maybe twenty minute runs on the daughter's car, we had nearly expired a gallon of Concordium. That was probably overkill for the car, but you get the drift. Walk around with the machine and aim the mist where you want it to be.As I understand Concordium, it's simply a triple combination of very high PH substances that strangles the mold at its roots. High PH means caustic/basic. I didn't use any protection because we were outdoors with the car. In the cellar you might want to follow Concordiums instructions and maybe use a simple painters mask kind of thing and if your skin is sensitive some rubber gloves. I had no problem without that. It's not that caustic. In fact, once I picked the fogger up backwards and it misted all over me for a couple of seconds with no negative effect.By the way, you might want to consider a two-pronged approach to your basement issue. Mold won't grow below 40% humidity. Think about getting a serious dehumidifier and a simple $5 humidistat to measure the humidity in your cellar. You'll want to not be cheap on the dehumidifier. Get one that's overkill for your basements area. Why overkill? It runs less and electricity is costly. And, get one that allows you to attach a hose to run the captured moisture out of the machine and down into your sump pump drain or cellar drain. Otherwise, you will be dumping the teeny tank inside the dehumidifier several times a day, every day.If you can get your cellar consistantly below 40% humidity with the dehumidifier, no more mold will grow and you can use the fogger to kill what you have and you should be golden.

**Q: Do you need to wipe down where the mold was after fogging a crawlspace?**
A: In some cases there is a small residue left over after fogging. However, this entirely depends on the chemical your using, how long you fogged, and how wet the fog (micron/particle size) was applied. I would recommend wiping up residue but this is entirely up to the end user of the product. A crawl space is different then your dining room. So again, the end user should use their own discretion in wiping up residue.

**Q: what are the particles size on fogging?**
A: To small for me to see with the naked eye. Plus it is adjustable.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does the job.
*by T***Y on September 11, 2022*

I ordered the Createch Commander cold fogger machine. This was to apply an anti-mold liquid treatment to the crawlspace under the house. I had never done this before, but the machine is simple and easy to use. I liked it's basic and sturdy design, where the quality is obvious. I got it in place under the house, and within an hour and a half, I was able to apply the liquid in the affected areas in the crawlspace. It only took this long due to fogging an area, then repositioning the machine to get all the areas affected from a water leak. The Commander worked as advertised, and was east to clean with warm water with a little dish soap as recommended. The Commander made easy work of what would have been a tough job without it! Nice to still find quality things made in the USA! If you have the need, this is a Great product.
