## Description

SmallRig Selection Compact Fluid Head CH10 3259 is specially designed for video shooting. Unlike other traditional fluid heads, it is only 70mm in height and features a 36mm-diameter baseplate, compact and easy to carry around. Fixed damping allows a smooth operation experience. It can be tilted +90°/-55° and swiveled 360° for multi-angle shooting. It comes with a removable anti-slip operation lever and can be used for either left handle or right handle, and with an Arca-type quick release plate for a quick switch between handheld shot and tripod shot. The head also includes a built-in screwdriver.

Review: Well made and works well - smaller than I thought - I was surprised at how small this head is. I use my tripods for both stills and video so I simply attached it to an existing mount. At this point, I'm not so sure I want to dedicate a tripod specifically for this head - just personal taste. The smaller size makes it easy to just toss in the bag. I took the photos to show how small it is - Nikon Z30 with the Nikkor 12-28mm PZ. I also tried it with my D750/Nikkor 28-300 and it held fine. My primary use for this would be for the Z30. First thing I did was flip the handle (allen key hidden & magnetic is a nice touch). This allows me the ability to use one hand to pan and the other to press the record button and power zoom controls :-) Both vertical and horizontal panning is very smooth. I would say that so far, pretty pleased with it.

**Q: Is there any problems or issues with camera drifting when locked down in the vertical position**
A: I have no problem with a smaller mirrorless body and telephoto lens. No idea whether a full-size DSLR would be stable.

**Q: Can I fold a tripod and have the handle line up with the tripod legs so it forms a compact ensemble for travel? Or does the handle stick out?**
A: You can fold it to make a fairly compact package. The box it comes in is only 3x3 1/4" in cross section. However, it's quite easy to take the handle off to make a smaller package.

**Q: Is this compatible with the falcam 38?**

**Q: Can this fit on a Manfrotto tripod?**
A: I used the 1/4-20 thread on bottom to put on an Arca mount so I can quickly get this on and off an Arca-Swiss tripod -- I assume you could mount a Manfrotto plate on the bottom to do the same for a Manfrotto tripod.

I was surprised at how small this head is. I use my tripods for both stills and video so I simply attached it to an existing mount. At this point, I'm not so sure I want to dedicate a tripod specifically for this head - just personal taste. The smaller size makes it easy to just toss in the bag. I took the photos to show how small it is - Nikon Z30 with the Nikkor 12-28mm PZ. I also tried it with my D750/Nikkor 28-300 and it held fine. My primary use for this would be for the Z30.
