I must have cleaned about 500 records with the first one before it fell apart. The only thing that would be better than this would be to use an old out-of-service turntable and use it as a base for cleaning your records. If I had more space, I would go that route. In the meantime, I will keep using this cleaning mat, it's very compact, and tears down easily for storage. Nothing more than an extremely flimsy mat with a foam center 'spindle' that doesn't do anything but get in the way. The foam disc in the lower corner also gets in the way when cleaning records. I've been using a microfiber towel to lay records on during my cleaning process and I immediately went back to that method after one use.Wasn't worth the time to return it, so I just threw it away. Stick with microfiber towels until someone comes up with a nice rubber core mat for cleaning records.
