GODOX QR-P90 Soft Box 35.5" Quick Release Parabolic Softbox +Honeycomb Grid

This is an incredible product with a tremendous amount of versatility. First, it has a Godox mount, which is a small version of the Bowens mount. It works great, pairs beautifully to the built-in mount on the AD300, and significantly reduces size and hassle. It does not, however, attach directly to Bowens mount light modifiers. For that you would need their bracket holders to make the conversion. It is a spring-loaded umbrella soft box. Push down on the hub to lock; press the button to release. That’s it. There are numerous spines making it very sturdy and circular. One caution. Because of that, it does take a good push to lock in, and pops out with a significant snap. It comes with an array of attachments. The small circular reflectors Velcro in the inner layer, providing black, white, and warm options. Because they are smaller in diameter than the soft box, light spills around them, so they act somewhat like beauty dishes. It also comes with an outer diffuser, and light baffles. Variations of the above provide numerous lighting options in a compact, light weight, and easy to assemble unit. Perfect for my needs.

I really like the Godox S85T Softbox. It’s easy to set up, put away and store with its soft case, which is included. Then there is the build quality, which is really good and should last for a long time with regular use. I plan on getting the smaller version, the S65T to use as more of a beauty dish and I’ll be set.

Buen producto y buen precio

This is a great quality softbox for the godox mount. Its nice to be able to get rid of adapers with my Ad300pro…however, as others have mentioned, you cant just fold it up. You have to take whatever inner layer you chose to put in there out, which also means you have to take off the outter baffle. The other problem is that while its neat to be able to change colors on you bounce disks, you cannot run both a inner baffle and bounce disk at the same time. I am used to having a metal bounce disc as well as being able to use the inner baffle at the same time. Kinda disappointing. I would give it 5 stars if it weren’t for these design flaws. Just using the two baffles looks great, but I haven’t tested it with just the bounce ids s.

Pro: Great lighting! Love the quality of light and the number of parts/accessories it comes with. Cons: none so far in a month of sporadic use. Maybe I could say that, the zippered opening on the softbox could be slightly longer and closer to the mount. It would greatly help in adjusting my custom gels from flashgels.com. But that's a nitpick. Cons not related to the softbox: Not the softbox's issue but mentioning here for context and to share knowledge. This softbox proves too heavy for the AD300pro's provided light mounting tool. That tiny thing doesn't have enough friction nor leverage in it's compact design to accommodate the weight and loses its position easily. Solution: I had no issues though with keeping the AD300Pro in the Godox S2 bracket. The S2 bracket is much stronger and better designed to get good mechanical leverage for tightening the angle of the light. But then this sort of deflates the purpose of the whole compact Godox mount and light system. The great thing though with this, is that the tight fit and the rectangular base battery bump on the AD300Pro prevent the light from sliding out of the S2 bracket. That's a great way to reduce points of failure. Minor worry: while the softbox is built well, I worry that over time of prolonged use, the umbrella style twisting we do to close it tight might loosen up a lot. But only time will tell and that's also down to my limited experience with this style of softbox.
