Once you slide it and tighten it enough to stay in place, and release the tremolo bar, it clears the guitar body just fine and does not touch it at all. Sorry! **Q: I own an ibanez rgahm470 and the tremolo unit is described as "standard double lock". will this tool work?** A: I have an RG470AHM as well and this tool does NOT work on this guitar. It has the standard double-locking tremolo, but the slot that is supposed to go around the fine tuning screw does not fit around the shaft of the screw. In addition, the hook that is supposed to go into the saddle to push or pull the saddle forward or backward does not fit in the gap behind the string block on the saddle - it is too wide. I have a feeling that Ibanez changed the specs of the saddles and fine tuning screws in the past few years and this tool no longer works with the newer floating bridges. **Q: Anybody use on the vai jems ?** A: Yes. Please take note that it dose not work on all Ibanez bridges though. I have a 1991 RG-770 with a Low-Pro Floyd Rose and it works great on this set up. My son has a Jem Jr. and this tool dose not fit on the bridge.
