It has a great fitting lid so I am currently using it for dry cat food. I may get another one to be able to put large bags of birdseed in. Because of the great fitting lid even if it got knocked over it wouldn't spill the contents. It keeps the cat food fresh so I can buy the larger size product. It is made of metal so it doesn't crack or absorb smells like plastic. I am a senior and can easily get the lid off and pour in the food.
