I put my arms on both sides of the float and swim him around and it still holds up amazing! The fit is deep to help ensure your little one stays warm and not sticking out of the water wet :) he was able to lay back and lay his head on the back rest and be comfy! It is super easy to inflate and deflate and is small enough while deflated to be thrown in a beach bag or purse and go!

Works so much better for my grandchild than the ones you get from Walmart. Keeps the baby from putting head into water and drinking the pool water. Enjoys being in the water with it. Needs a better way for the shade to be on floater but otherwise great product. Great quality
