The breathable, waterproof fabric is soft to the touch and not crinkly, crackly. Workmanship is very nice. The cut is flattering and not too boxy. It is soft enough and pretty enough to wear as an all weather jacket and does not look like a typical rain jacket...nothing rubbery or plastic. Because comments with height and weight are much more helpful when I'm looking at reviews I'll share that I am 5'4", 135 pounds. I usually wear a medium top, but sometimes large depending on the cut, size 6 pants. It took a bit to figure out, first ordering in both medium and large to see what fit best, because of comments saying it runs a bit small for USA sizing, and though the medium was wearable it felt a bit snug across the shoulders and bust. I like my outer layer to be looser so I kept the large and it fits perfectly with some room for layering. The length is great for my height, longer than a regular jacket, more like a parka length or fingertip length. I could not be happier.
