Works good. 5 stars
Works great. Way better than the ones with the lights that light up that you can't see in the sun.

Fabulous Volt Meter
I only write reviews when something is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad, and this thing is great. I used to have one of those ridiculous meters that you get at hardware stores, with a row of leds that are supposed to tell you the voltage. But it's impossible to read those in the daytime, even on an overcast day and while trying to shade them. You can only read those things at night when it's plenty dark. Who wants to do that? This one has a large display that's easy to read no matter what the conditions. It turns itself on and off; in my case it turns on even before touching the hot wires because there's so much voltage. I designed and built a highly unusual electric fence to keep squirrels and raccoons from completely stripping my pear orchard. Since I didn't know any better at the time, I used a Zareba EDC15M-Z rated for 15 miles; but my hot wires are only about 1000 feet long. This meter can measure voltage higher than most, so it routinely shows between 17K and 18K volts. Probably enough to stop an elephant.

Shocks me!
I've used plenty of electric fence readers over the years. This one only intermittently would give a reading, even with a fresh battery. The first time I used it I got shocked. I assumed my hand somehow slipped and touched the metal prongs. I took another reading and got shocked again. That time, I assumed the wire was damaged somewhere and that I was touching exposed wires. Not the case. Not sure, but after two zaps at 19V I threw this reader in the closet for back up use with heavy duty rubber gloves and boots on. Waste of $$.

Easy to Use - Easy to Read
Way better unit then the el cheapo blinking ones that are hard to see in daylight. Display on this is big and easy to read even in bright sunlight. No buttons makes for quick easy use but con is that it seems to get "stuck" if voltage or something is not quite right and to reset you have to unscrew 3 screws from back, unplug battery for a couple seconds, then put all back together. Works on 9 volt battery which comes with unit and is already installed.

Works well, does the job
Works well, would be 5 star but the ground wire is a little small/thin. Tested against neighbors and it is plenty accurate for testing your fence. Quickly turns off when not touching the hot wire. As with most products now, toss the supplied battery and use a quality one. Battery access requires small screwdriver, so popping the battery out between use is not quick/easy. No real complaints, I would recommend

So far ok
Easy to use with a full scale of 19kV is what I needed to test my own home-built fence charger. My solar charger just didnt hack it for furry critters like raccoons. The new charger is verified as a lot “hotter” 😁

works great
Great at testing the electric fence. The only downfall is if your fence is there is no display if your fence is not working right, making you wonder if it is the fence or the meter.
