Dewalt Expensive with quality that lasts.

I immediately registered this Battery on the Dewalt website, and they recognized it as one of their own . . YAY . . THANK YOU Chicago Distribution, thank you Amazon. I have bought others of these on Ebay, and one of these on Amazon, before, both of which WERE NOT by authorized resellers, and one was a straight up phony, too light, wouldn't register, bad discoloration on the case, etc . . Nice to get what you pay for . . Amazon must finally be doing something about fake knock offs, nice for me, nice for Dewalt and their employess, nice for work . . .

Works great. Replacing one that died after only 3 years.

Purchased Dec 7 2024. It stopped being able to be charged on July 26 2025. That's about 6 months. I tried with 3 different chargers and none of them had any problem charging my other 9ah Flexvolt. The price for how long it lasts got me all kinds of messed up. I paid extra, a lot extra, for a genuine 9Ah Dewalt battery and it dies in 6 months?!?! I might go back to the cheap 3rd party batteries. The 3rd parties don't last long either but I got 2 years out of those. I figured I'd get longer out of a genuine brand with better electronics inside, nope. I need the bigger flexvolt to run the Dewalt blade edger, leaf blower, and chainsaw at full speed. Contacted Dewalt through their website and provided pictures of the date code and model (required) and they're sending a replacement (2 weeks shipping). The warranty is not updated after receiving the replacement so you cannot continually replace these every time they fail past the limited warranty period. I use them once a week so after 6 months that about 24 uses before failure. At this rate I'll have to contact Dewalt every 6 months. :(

Very long-lasting battery for extended work sessions.

I originally bought these batteries because I had to. (60v Sawzall.) I also have several other 20v tools from DeWalt that are power hungry. These batteries sate them and run them at full power and potential for hours. 9AH at 60v should translate to 27AH at 20v. There is a controversy as to how much you actually get but it is probably close. I have no idea as I have never been able to drain the battery, it always lasts longer than I do! I was doing some major destruction on an old structure heavily using my sawzall and three hours in I figured I should check my battery power. The indicator still gave me two green lights and my first thought was "When did I change the Battery? I have no recollection doing that!" The bigger batteries fit all the 20v tools I have but are cumbersome on some. They are very heavy and actually outweigh some of my smaller tools. Others, like my roof nailer, actually benefit from the extra balancing weight and power. I only have the standard 20v charger for these batteries and I find it absolutely adequate. I have a personal animosity to the 'Quick-Chargers' as I have used one before on a different brand of battery and it made the battery too hot to hold. I am pretty sure that is not a good thing. I have also seen the new 15AH 60v FlexVolt which is the same size as these batteries. Physics is a jealous mistress and I do not see how they can do it without a major compromise to life or reliability. You can buy two of these batteries for the price of one 15AH.
