I've started ordering a farm box full of produce on a weekly basis and I don't want any of it to go bad. I bought these containers because they're dishwasher safe and reasonably priced. They work extremely well and held up on the top rack of my dishwasher. Please keep in mind that these extend the life of your produce, but they don't perform miracles, lol. If you wash berries before storing (which encourages molding), your berries will get moldy just like any other time you wash and store. Otherwise, I wash all my produce before storing. I don't wash it inside the included colanders. I use those to help control humidity by keeping the veggies away from moisture that may accumulate on the bottom and sides. I recommend following the FDA guidelines for cleaning, which means spray the produce with white vinegar, spray with food grade 3% hydrogen peroxide, let sit a few minutes, then rinse with cold water. Then fully dry them before storing. I pop a towel on my dining room table and let them air dry, flipping them once. I haven't had any gnats, which is crazy awesome, and it cleans off dirt, pesticides, animal drips and drops, bacteria, even viruses (although I'm more into killing bacteria to help avoid mold and food poisoning!). Not going to lie - I'd do it to avoid the gnats if that's all it did! Washing this way also helps extend how long they stay fresh, but the containers are what made my stuff last an extra week or more! The containers are sturdy plastic. The colanders are full of holes so they aren't going to hold up to a ton of abuse, but they aren't brittle or too thin. The lids are finicky at times and I usually twist them around to get the latches to work if I have any trouble, which I usually don't. But it does occasionally happen and a lot of reviewers seem to have difficulty. I haven't noticed anything too awful, just twist them around and boom. It works. Also, I noticed the company listed directions on how to get the lids to snap closed so I'm guessing some containers need extra help. I wish there were lids with vents for the ultra high humidity stuff but I guess not latching the containers could help, lol. I usually wipe off the moisture on the underside of the lid when I'm getting my veggies out and make sure not to let anything touch the top of the container. Moisture is not your friend. Overall, I love these containers and bought a second set to add to my first. Highly recommend.

I originally wanted to buy an Oxy storage system, but when I was ready to buy it, I found that it was only sold from Whole Foods, with an extra charge for home delivery. Then I found this Luxear product. The main difference is that Oxy has a compartment for an ethylene absorber pack (the gas that fruits and vegetables emit that makes them ripen faster) and is sold with an ethylene absorbing pack. Luxear product does not have a compartment for the pack, but I purchased the packs and just added them to the storage box on the side. It works pretty well, keeping my fruits and vegetables fresh longer. I was wondering if five storage boxes were more than I need, turned it was just right. I use one for blueberries, one for strawberries, one for tomatoes, one for cucumbers, and one for grapes. The only downside is that the vegetables and fruits in boxes take up a lot more space, so I had to optimize what and how I store items in the refrigerator. I’ve been using them for about 3 weeks and so far they are great. They definitely extend the life of our berries and lettuce. I don’t wash the berries, just put them in and wash with each use. I did wash/spin an entire head of lettuce and then put in and it works fantastic! The closures are not always perfect, sometimes they don’t want to clasp right away. But overall, very happy!!

This will extend the quality of your fruit. Fruit stays fresher longer, at least grapes, blueberries and cherries. I forgot about the fruit and was expecting a full grown science project in the container. Some were a little dryer than when bought but no mold and still eatable.

That about sums these up. Great for baby carrots, tiny tomatoes and diced up veg of all kind. I find fruits and veg stay fresh and last longer than normal containers or the resealable bags that shall not be named. The large one is actually really good for lettuce. I like to peal each leaf, rinse and pat dry then stack them in the slotted insert. Lettuce this way lasts much longer than just peeling what you want off the head. we also find that people are more likely to use a leaf or two for sandwiches then if they have to do the work to peel them off and clean them. Kids, right.

Just okay. Don’t really preserve fruit any longer than a regular container. Produce still goes bad fast in the container. Some of the closures are very difficult & sometimes don’t close well. Easy to clean. I like the different sizes. Would not buy again as design is cheaply made. Not great value as there are better options.

We seen this from someone we follow and absolutely love the way it separated the fruit from a paper towel to reduce the moisture. These are great durable plastic containers. They were well worth the price for the quality these are provided. We love putting our fruit in these that help them last longer than traditional other plastic ware. We mention this to our friends all the time. We do enjoy the stress freeness it is to clean up easily. We were surprised how well these don't leak or don't bust open when they would happen to fall.

I don't know what it is about the area we live in, but food just goes bad like crazy here since we moved. I put everything in these little boxes and it keeps far longer than ever before-- lettuce, fruits, vegetables, it all stays crisp and fresh. Especially the lettuce. Lettuce would just wilt in a day after it entered this house, but not anymore. Make sure you only put DRY things in those containers, though, if there is moisture in there they will wilt regardless. I use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture before I store things. The lids are a little tough to clip on sometimes and get a seal, but once they do clip on they work well. I love that they have handles, too, it makes it so much easier to get things out of the fridge one-handed.

i have no idea about the science behind it, but it really keep your vegetable fresh for much much longer. Make sure there is no excess amount of water on your vegi or fruit, otherwise it will rot for sure.

We have found that the fruit and Veggies stays fresher in the LUEAR storage containers than simply putting the bags of fruit and veggies it in the fridge

These containers meet my expectations perfectly. The lids secure as intended- I’m not sure why other reviews say the lids don’t lock shut. They lock shut perfectly fine for me. The biggest size container fits a container of spinach or lettuce. The smallest size fits a container of grape tomatoes. I put a piece of paper towel down between the container and the inner basket to absorb any moisture. My produce lasts so much longer in my fridge in these containers. Very happy with them. They are also durable and seem like good quality.
