I use this in my large classroom when things are getting a little too rowdy. Although I never squeeze it at a full pinch (it is VERY loud), I quickly pinch the whistle a few times, and my students are able to hear it without hearing damage! :) It's just the right volume when softly squeezed. I also like this whistle over the traditional mouth whistle; this is much more sanitary, so I am able to let my substitutes use it (and don't have to worry about spreading germs from students who want to "test" it!).
