Great Stand
I love this stand, I use it a lot for my inside photography, only thing I don't like about it is the place where it move up and down. It doesn't stay very well and you have to really tighten the handle for no movement.

Good price for a mid-duty boom stand
I like having a portable light stand with an optional boom arm function. This one is a good size and weight to carry on location when needed. I did have to make a couple of modifications to improve it's functionality. The fulcrum is made a bit counter to good mechanics to lock the angle of the boom. The portion of the locking bolt requires it to compress against the outer casting and compress it to lock the boom in place. This puts a lot of pressure on the casting itself by the time it compresses enough to lock the boom arm in place. Actually it didn't lock that well. I installed a bushing under the locking handle that would compress washers directly against the boom bracket. I drilled out the hole in the outer casting to allow the bushing to float freely and transfer all of the pressure. I also installed a bushing in the pivot hole of the boom arm casting to allow it to rotate freely. Now it locks tightly and rotates easily into position. Even with this additional work these stands are a great bargain.

worth the price!
I've been using this on and off over the last year and honestly, best money spent! study enough where I can put some heavy items on one end and use the sandbag (as they call it) for a counter weight and to hold charging batteries inside of it. I don't have many issues with it (other in smaller places it can be a bit much). I use this to record overhead videos for my youtube channel of card games and this thing is awesome!

Don’t buy!
Useless. Not stable at all. I was constantly worried it would fall- and it did (even with more weight added to the back to try and even it out). Broke after a month of use and now I’m out the money. Very bad product. Pay a little more and get something that you can safely use

Boom arm gets stuck
The height of this stand is great. It also is feels pretty sturdy. However, after the 2nd use of the boom arm, I noticed that after I released the handle to close up the boom arm, the arm was not moving easily. As you can see in the picture, when you tighten the lever that will lock the boom arm into place, the hex nut sinks too deep into the space (usually it sinks in more than shown in the picture). Therefore, even when you release the lever, it does not release the pressure off of the boom arm. I have to take off the lever (I have a picture of the lever above) and hit it with a hammer to push out the hex nut so I can return it to the original position. I contacted the seller to ask if they could do anything about this, and they said that they could not do anything (which is disappointing as a buyer). I bought it in March of this year, but I did not use it until April, and by the time I realized what was happening, it was past the one month return. I would not recommend this product for people who will need to adjust the boom arm. If you are the only person using it, and you will always use it in the same location (maybe sitting on a stool playing a guitar), this could be okay. However, in that case, you don't need anything this big. I use it with a condenser mic for on-location video recording, so I always need the arm to move. I have ordered a different one from a different seller, and I will test that out thoroughly. Finally, one of the sandbag zippers was broken, but I was willing to deal with that.
