The metal seems to be relatively light. I would not use it in a BBQ pit. It is also coated, which might peel off due to the heat.

Hands Down The Best Cooling Rack!

Love the sturdiness of this cooling rack. Space saver on my gorgeous granite countertops. Tucks back under the cabinets and I do not mind it being out if I’m using it. My dog treats have plenty of air all around to cool the treats. I love the fact the dog treats do not fall off the sides. This cooling rack holds 5 lbs of large thick bones.
