GREAT TOOTHBRUSH
The Philips Sonicare 4100 Series (HX3681/23) is a powerhouse entry-level electric toothbrush that prioritizes gum health and ease of use over unnecessary "smart" gimmicks. Itโs a perfect upgrade for those moving from a manual brush who want the proven Sonicare cleaning power without a triple-digit price tag. Excellent Battery Life: Lasts up to 14 days on a single charge. Slim & Lightweight: Very comfortable to hold and easy to pack for travel. The 4100 Series is widely regarded as the "sweet spot" in the Sonicare lineup. It provides the essential featuresโpressure sensor and timerโthat actually improve oral health, while skipping the expensive Bluetooth apps. Itโs reliable, effective, and often available for under $50.

Excellent electric brush 5000 over not needed
This is my 3rd electric brush I owned. I had oral-b and also had a sonicare from the older 5000 series. It not as powerful as 5000 series but itโs not necessary works perfect as is. It smaller compared to 5000 fits my mouth way better. Only has one button has multiple options. It also lighter than the old one.

Great functionality, low price.
The model 4100 does everything I need for a much lower price than the Diamondclean model. Been using the 4100 for about 6 months and no regrets. I previously had the Diamondclean model which finally died after a few years of use so I needed a replacement. I didnโt need the 5 setting options or the WiFi connectivity of Diamondclean so I decided to try the 4100 model. The 4100 has two settings - I still only use one. Itโs also lighter, uses the same brush heads, and has a smaller and lighter charger that should travel well. It feels the same when Iโm brushing and the best part is that if it dies, I could buy about four of them for the same price as one Diamondclean. Iโm extremely happy I gave it a try and saved so much money.

Planned obsolescence
Without fail this toothbrush breaks every year, leading to my purchase of a replacement. Still at the price point and promise of working 700 percent better than the average toothbrushe it never feels insurmountable. Brilliant work by the folks at Phillips Sonicare to so perfectly thread the needle of price, quality and duration so myself as the consumer still feel ok with my purchase, year after year. See- Planned obsolescence is a business strategy where products are deliberately designed with an artificially limited lifespan or functional utility to ensure they become outdated or non-functional after a set period. This practice compels consumers to purchase replacements or upgrades more frequently, thereby increasing a manufacturer's long-term sales volume.

Not as weak as they say
This is my 1st electric toothbrush. I ordered it over the oral b smart 1500 because it's cheaper and I found more people who swear by it than oral b. Later on, I read comments where people who have this 4100 for 10+ years say that the newer 2021 version has only half the power of the old version. Someone on reddit showed images of the inside of the new and old versions and the new version has a small plastic toy-like motor, while the old version has a big copper-wrapped motor and an old version user said "now I understand why the new version is lighter and less powerful". I was disappointed on the new version and tried to cancel the order but I couldn't. Once it came, I decided to try it and to my surprise, it brushes my teeth way better than my manual soft-bristled and hard-bristled toothbrushes(I use both manual brushes daily compared to my daily usage of the electric toothbrush 4100 C2 head of medium bristles. If you have gum sensitive issue, buy the S sensitive or G2 optimal brush head. If you want hard-bristled, buy W diamondclean brush head). I don't know how good the old version was but this newer version definitely brushes better than any manual toothbrush unfortunately it doesn't not come with a travel case. Update 5/16/2024: I bought the Oral B smart 1500 because it was on sale and I wanted to see how better it is compared to the sonicare. The oral B package looks nicer and bigger than the Sonicare but upon opening the smart 1500 package, I saw hair all over the toothbrush. I did read many customers saying on reddit that their Oral b toothbrush were repackaged, but I can't believe I'm a victim of this nastiness. It also took 2 weeks to reach me from Hawaii and since it says "made in China", I think the seller is located in China. I'll return this and I'll advise you to buy the Sonicare instead of the oral b if you don't want to be cheated receiving a used-repackaged toothbrush. Update 05/22/2024: On 05/17/24, I bought the Oral b smart clean 360 which has exact power as the smart 1500 that I returned but the smart 360 has 5 modes and a button to change the mode while the smart 1500 has 3 modes and no button to switch between the modes. The advantage of the oral b smart clean 360 is that the brush heads cost is cheaper than the Sonicare 4100 and I find it better at whitening my teeth than the Sonicare. That's all the advantages there. The things that I don't like with it are many, so I'm just going to name the most annoying ones: 1) The brush heads are too big compared to the Sonicare(see picture): Putting Oral b brush heads in my mouth is like putting a golf ball in my mouth(my head and mouth are wider than the average US male). 2) The brush heads have holes(see pictures) that trap saliva+toothpaste and creates more noise when the brush handle needle rotates in the presence of the liquid mixture, and moisture will be also trapped easily in the holes(most customers complain about Oral b brush heads design. Oral b corrected the needle issue with the IO version but the IO introduced a shallow hole which now traps moisture in the brush handle). When I'm using the Oral b with no choice but to have my mouth wide-open, it forces my mouth to produce more saliva which gets mixed with the toothpaste and enters the brush head and creates more noise. 3) Rattling noise: The Oral b smart clean 360 isn't as noisy as people say. It's the quality of the noise the problem. It's a very unpleasant rattling noise as if you're hearing an old car engine with broken parts in it. That noise gets worse when liquid enters the brush head holes. 4) The charger is not round like a perfect circle: You must put the Oral b brush handle in a specific position to charge it and if you place it wrong, it'll fall and might break. 5) The Daily Clean mode is rough and combined with the big brush head the experience is bad, but the smart clean 360 has more mode which make it smoother and better than the smart 1500 but not as good as the Sonicare 4100. 6)It has no auto-stop mode: You keep brushing without knowing how long you have been brushing your teeth. To summarize, the oral b non-IO brush heads are cheap but very badly designed for a pleasant toothbrushing. I won't recommend it if you're shorter than 6 foot tall or have a small mouth.

My Teeth Feel Like Theyโve Been Polished by a Tiny, Enthusiastic Pit Crew
I used to brush my teeth like a common laborer, moving my hand back and forth like I was trying to start a fire with two sticks. Then I bought the Philips Sonicare 4100. I realized within thirty seconds that I had been doing it wrong for thirty years. My mouth doesn't just feel clean; it feels like itโs been through a high-end car wash and then buffed with a microfiber cloth. Why Your Mouth Needs This Sonic Engine: The Vibrations of Victory: 62,000 brush movements per minute. If I tried to do that manually, my arm would fly off and hit the mirror. This thing creates a "microbubble" situation that reaches into crevices I didn't even know I possessed. The "Stop Pressing So Hard" Sensor: Apparently, I used to brush my teeth with the same intensity I use to scrub a cast-iron skillet. The 4100 has a pressure sensor that pulses when Iโm being too aggressive. Itโs like a gentle life coach for my gums. The Two-Minute Timer: I used to think two minutes was a long time. It turns out, my "manual" two minutes was actually about forty seconds. This brush keeps me honest. Itโs the longest two minutes of my life, but my dentistโs inevitable praise will be worth it. Battery Life for Days: I charged this thing once, and Iโm pretty sure itโs going to outlast my current lease. Itโs the Energizer Bunny of dental hygiene. The Life Impact I combined this with my 1,000 RESHLIX Floss Picks, and Iโm fairly certain my mouth is now the cleanest environment on the North American continent. I went to the dentist last week and he asked me if Iโd recently had a professional cleaning. I just smiledโa blinding, sonic-powered smileโand walked out. Pros: My teeth are so smooth I canโt stop sliding my tongue over them. Itโs slim, itโs sleek, and it makes my bathroom look like a futuristic spa. Cons: The vibration is so powerful that if you turn it on before itโs in your mouth, you will decorate your bathroom mirror with toothpaste art. Youโve been warned.

Great toothbrush with a UBS charger
Great toothbrush. This one is a replacement for a Sonicare I bought at least 20 years ago. It made many international and national trips, so it did get a little battered up, but that makes it a pretty reasonable price. I will say that the brushers are expensive but I asked my dentist where he purchased the ones he gives away and ordered from that company, PlaquePro.com, in bulk. Be aware that you have to order about a bazillion of them, so get a big drawer ready for them. Note that if you travel, while many larger hotels do have a UBS charge station, some hotels will not, so you may want to take a UBS hub that plugs into the wall socket.

Good for the money
We bought three of these electric toothbrushes on sale during Christmas time. Two of the three still hold a great charge but one seems to not hold a charge more than a few days. When they work, they are great brushes and the heads are nice sized to fit in any position around your mouth. Only difficult to reach spot is very back tooth on top and bottom.

Great electric toothbrush
This toothbrush is light, holds its charge well, isn't too noisy, and most importantly keeps my teeth immaculate. I previously had gum issues, but it has really helped me manage them. I have had this almost 2 years now, and it still works perfectly.
