Caswell Penetrating Sealer is used after applying a black oxide coating onto steel or iron parts. It imparts a slightly oily feel to the parts, which displaces moisture and prevents rust. After sealing, dip or brush the parts with the sealer and allow to contact the part for 1-5 minutes. After sealing, shake off excess and allow to dry. Review: Works as a sealer against black oxide finishes. - After chemically changing the iron surface, this sealer does inhibit the formation of rust. No issues. Rinse parts well BEFORE putting oil. Put parts in wet then stir/shake.

No instructions included. Not much info even on web site. Product is very watery. Prepped steel surface and applied "sealer" in side and out. Allowed to dry completely. Did not change the appearance of the metal at all. Have no idea about seal but we will see with some use.

So far so good
I'm new to machining and the cold bluing process, I made a part for my old Bridgeport and blued it instead of painting. The part looks great. Time will tell if it stays that way.
