Great choice
This was used as a display case for a retired coworker showcasing his accomplishments- pins, medallions, service awards, etc. Worked beautifully, used short pins and double sided gorilla glue to hold items in place

Excellent quality and very sturdy!
I came up with an idea to make a unique present for our granddaughter; take a box like this and securely attach it to a small table. The give her a bunch of different seashells I'd collected in Florida over the years to arrange in this display box. She loved the gift!Since she opens it to change the shells displayed, I was happy to see the sturdy hinges on this box. We did add a small chain to the lid so that it would stay open (she wouldn't have to hold it open), but the entire unit is very well made and is attractive!I am aware I didn't use this box as the manufacturer intended, but I am sure it will hold up to many years of a little girl displaying all sorts of things in it! I highly recommend it!

Beautiful, well made, well-packed
This arrived in perfect condition, even more beautiful than the picture, is solid and straight and seems to work well. Since I plan to use it for hanging earrings for display and use I will probably add a small knob to make opening it easier (which should be easy since it is real wood), but for those wanting something to look like a picture frame it would be perfect as-is. The back is not solid wood but most frames are not and who cares if you are hanging it on the wall? The velvet backing has enough thickness that i am able to push a push-pin all the way in and it stays.
