There are pros and cons to this scale in my opinion. The big flat surface provides enough room if the animal wants to lie down and it is low enough to slip under a coffee table or couch for storage. The weight is minimal, maybe 10-12 pounds so it's easy to move around. My problem is whatever is being weighed has to be off of the scale in order for the scale to power up. After that, whatever you are weighing needs to be very still after you push the hold button in order to get a good reading. Since my cat moves around a lot I weigh him 3 or 4 times and take an average and that requires him having to be taken off the scale each time and starting over. It's somewhat easier with my smaller cats but they tend to move around also so I take more than one reading on them too. **Q: what is the dimensions of the scale** A: The scale measures around 16 in. by 27 in. For the money, it has been a good scale for us. If you are needing something for a shelter with high volume, you might want a better one. But for the price, I have no complaints **Q: does the decimal reading go out to the 100th? meaning 0.01lbs?** A: How do you set the scale to read in DECIMALS when in LB mode? Mine reads in LB and OZ...totally not useful! Who weighs anything larger than maybe a couple month old infant in LB & Oz?I can get decimals when I put it in KG mode, but then I'm left converting back to LBs, which is inefficient for my mobile vet practice. **Q: Can i weigh my goats ok on this ?** A: You can weigh anything or anybody as long as they (it) does not exceed 225 lbs ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent scale, easy to use. Can you say hernia? Found this great little gem on Amazon and bought it. For the price, we didn't have high hopes, but once it arrived, it was easy to set up (batteries) the instructions are clear (turn on scale, get dog on scale, press the hold button once the pup gets all 4 legs and tail on it), and boom! No hernia and you get a weight. The surface is slippery, so initially we put a towel down before turning it on, but now that she's used to it, we don't even bother (there are bribes of cheese involved). Initially we were a bit skeptical of how accurate it was, so we weighed her before a vet visit and both scales said the same. It's big (thankfully) big enough for a 72lb (she's on a diet) Siberian Husky, with ample room for a bigger dog. It's in our kitchen (needs to be on a firm, flat surface) and easily slides under a table that holds our microwave so it's out of the way, but slides out easy enough for use. Our only problem is that when Casey (the husky) feels she needs a cheese snack, she'll go stand on it under the table expecting her treats. An added bonus is that when we go to the vet now, it's not a battle to get her on the scale there.
