New Chapter Menopause Supplement - Estrotone Herbal Hormone Balance for Women in Perimenopause, with Black Cohosh for Hot Flash Relief & to Reduce Night Sweats + Vitex, No Added Hormones - 60 ct

I was using Source Naturals' product "Hot Flash" for years, but then the tablets became huge and rough. I wrote a whole string of reviews on that product as it's very unusual and has some great ingredients. But those tablets...ugh! I tried Remifemin next, but they have also changed their original product. Yes, they are tiny, but gone are the slick, peppermint-flavored tablets, and now they too are without any coating. What to do now? My trusted vitamin lady at Sprouts had mentioned this New Chapter product with high praise, so I thought I'd check it out and compare. For me, there is one clear winner. Form and dose: Hot Flash is a ginormous pressed tablet, almost no veggie glaze to get it down, to be taken 3 times a day. Remifemin, though tiny with a cute butterfly logo, is like an uncoated aspirin, twice a day. Gag. Estrotone is a once-a-day small, slick gelatin capsule. 'Nuff said. Ingredients: They all have black cohosh (powerhouse for mood and flashes), and Hot Flash and Estrotone both have chaste tree berry (balance), but that's where the similarities end. Hot Flash also has dong quai (regulation of periods which I don't have), licorice and SoyLife (good for hormone balance). Remifemin has ONLY black cohosh, nothing else. Estrotone, because it is a liquidy paste instead of a dry tablet, can also carry a hefty dose of Evening Primrose oil (hormone balance and GLAs), plus extracts of ginger and rosemary (strong antioxidants), plus an herb called schizandra to boost liver function. Adding schizandra is pretty clever because black cohosh can (in rare instances) be hard on the liver, so putting a protectant in there is brilliant. Schizandra is also used for increasing energy and calmness. Yay. So, for me, it comes down to this: 3 huge, scratchy tablets, 2 tiny scratchy tablets...or 1 slick capsule? Soy or Evening Primrose oil? Schizandra to protect my liver from the cohosh, or no protection? Sorry Source Naturals and Remi, but I'm going to have to go with New Chapter on this one. If you hadn't ruined your tablets, I probably would never have gone looking for something new, so I guess I should thank you? LOL And since the New Chapter line is geared to work together, I am also able to take their Zyflamend capsules (mega antioxidants and soothing herbs) for joint pain relief when needed. This stuff is amazing! I am on my second bottle. Hot flashes are at zero, I am sleeping through the night and my blood sugar is much easier to control. I really didn't think it was going to do much and I was pleasantly surprised. I am not a good candidate for HRT due to family medical history, so this is a godsend!

I don’t want you to give this a bad review but it made me sick it nausea. I’m sure it works well but after I stopped it after day 3, symptoms went away.

I'm so glad I found this product! I am post menopause. I was having such bad fogginess that I couldn't drive anymore. I couldn't find any product that would help with that. I finally found this product and it cleared it right up. I highly recommend this product!

I am under 40 and had surgical menopause. This made a world of difference! I didn't have hormone replacement therapy and started taking Estrotone immediately after the surgery. I seemed to be doing alright but stopped and started taking a different supplement that someone had recommended and started getting horrible symptoms. I had to go back to Estrotene to support the transition and am having a good transition (I am 5 months post-op).

So, I had super high hopes because it stopped my hot flashes immediately, and about a week after starting it, I finally got my period, after 2 months of it being missing. I'm only 40 but it seems I am not ovulating every month anymore. I read another review where someone in a similiar situation said it started her periods again, so that's the main reason I bought this. I feel like every product of this type that contains Black Cohash does a great job of stopping hot flashes but that's about all it does. Kind of the same thing with this product. I'm on my 3rd month of it and still not getting my period, after the one initial time, I'm pretty sure it was a fluke not related to the pills. Meaning the pills did not start my period. Anyway, for the hot/cold flashes yes it works. Everything else, there might just not be a magic pill for those things unfortunately.

Been using this product for 2 years now. Hot flashes were gone in the first few days. I will not go without now!
