Very simple to use. It does what it says on the tin. I think it might contain a touch of magic. Its amazing how sharp my kitchen knives are now, and it takes just seconds to get a very sharp edge. Well priced and very nice presentation box.

I was tired of my knives being about as sharp as a buttered spoon, so I grabbed the Diamond Edge No.1 Knife Sharpener hoping it would finally turn my sad collection into something that could actually slice a tomato without turning it into salsa first. Holy edge, Batman! This little gadget is like a spa day for your blades. In just a few gentle pulls, my dull kitchen knives went from "butchering the bread" to "surgical precision." I now feel like a professional chef... or at least someone who watched too many Gordon Ramsay videos. Pros: Safer than my ex's cooking – The ergonomic handle and non-slip base mean I didn't lose a finger (a personal record). Compact – Fits in a drawer without declaring war on my utensil organizer. Works on everything – Regular knives, serrated ones, even my "I bought this in 2012" steak knives that had more rust than edge. Cons: My family now expects me to sharpen EVERYTHING. The scissors, the lawnmower blade (don't ask), and apparently my patience. It's so effective that my old "I swear it's still sharp" excuses no longer fly. Thanks for exposing me, Diamond Edge. I think it does the job okay, I only bought it because my knives were getting really blunt and I think it did the job. I wouldn’t say it was the best sharpener out there but for the size and ability to store it was good enough for the job. It’s little but it comes with a suction on the bottom so you don’t have to hold it nervously because it will stick to your countertop. I am pleased with it, just to help with the knives but I wouldn’t say it’s for professional purposes just homely needs.

What a difference this has made to my knives! It does exactly what it says it does. Much smaller piece of kit than I imagined (there's "compact" and then there's "miniscule"). Very easy to use. Suction cup is effective. And I sharpened all of my knives in seconds. Almost no pressure required - just place the closest part of the blade onto the device and gently pull back towards you applying only very slight downward pressure and repeat two or three times. Hey presto! Really quick and it's like I have a new set of knives. Brilliant piece of kit and I would highly recommend.

This small knife sharpener works really well for its size. It’s compact, lightweight, and doesn’t take up much space in the kitchen drawer. Much smaller than expected. But as some of the people say; “it’s not the size that matters, it’s what you do with it” or whatever. The size really does not matter in this case. The suction function is fantastic, I was in a rush, and spilled crystal salt all over, swiped some but not all away, but this bad boy still clung onto the worktop like a champion (yes you’re still reading that knife sharpener review). I completely forgot to chop up an onion, so sharpness and speed were of the essence. At first I didn’t get the angle right and it wasn’t what Id call a smooth performance, but gave it another go and booooom, this time it was the onion that was crying. What a feeling. What a superb little piece of kit. Hope these are made to last but I wouldn’t be too mad if I had to buy another in 1 year. EDIT: having used this sharpener LESS THAN 20 TIMES I must say that it no longer performs. I expected more life..makes no difference now. Maybe I did something wrong.

Did the job well. We have sone older steel sharpened kitchen knives an wanted to test this out. Tried the paper cutting test before and it didnt really cut.. after doing one knife, needed more than the 4 passes worked a treat. The suction pad is really strong, but not too tough to attach to the top. Comes in a small tube with instructions... they are pretty useless but the product is simple enough to use. You do.. or I did.. get lots of metal fillings on the top.. worth noting as will need cleaning if you're prepping on that area after. Didn't like that with different knives you need different "drawers" through the block.. meaning my block has cuts n chunks out of it 5 knives later.. but the knives are razor sharp. Only concern I have is longevity of the sharpening blades on the tool. Few more knives to do. So we will see how it fairs. I was pretty impressed with it overall. Update.... well! I've just washed up one of the knives I sharpened with the product.... and its sliced through the sponge... it's that sharp! Didnt think it would be anywhere near that good! You will have to warn the house that the knives are extra sharp. Awesome!
