However the LT5000D do not have pilot arc, the torch need to touch with the metal you want to cutter. Pilot arc torch efficiently cuts though rough, painted, and rusty surfaces and produces minimal slagIf you choose LTP5000D you can spend less money on change the consumable for your plasma cutter. But have used it at full power on my 220 v circuit with no problems....... **Q: What is the minimum size compressor (tank size) that can be used with this machine?** A: I found it on the Lotos web site in the manual. The CFM requirement is only 3.8. @ 66 PSI. A small compressor should do the job.
