Amazing
Was deciding between this one and the Hario cone dripper, which costs a lot more. While I can't directly compare the two since I only got the Tanors one, I have absolutely no regrets! The ceramic cup (no plastic parts, which is a plus!) is very well-made, and I'm not worried about chipping it while washing. Speaking of washing, this thing is MUCH easier to use than a coffeemaker in terms of cleanup and maintenance. I just toss the filter and rinse the cup for a few seconds. No huge carafe to clean, or periodic vinegar rinses. Since using the dripper cup, I've also had less stomach/GI issues when drinking coffee, which might be related to avoiding some of the buildup that happens in the machines between vinegar cleanings. The coffee also tastes MUCH better than any coffeemaker coffee I've tried, especially since you can adjust everything from water temp to brewing speed to your liking. If it ends up tasting weird, you can fiddle with variables, versus being stuck with yucky tasting coffee that can only be brewed 1 way in a coffeemaker. When I'm feeling lazy or rushed for time, I fill the cone to the top with water and walk away, but otherwise, I follow the standard method of brewing (youtube is your friend!), and I've been happy either way. I never ran into the problem of my coffee brewing too fast unless I was using a coarse grind, or if I overfilled the cup with water. Over time, you'll probably find what works best for you with your personal taste and whatever coffee you're using. I've found that 2 tablespoons of med-fine to fine grind works well for a standard sized cup of coffee. I'm also using a lot less coffee grounds with this compared to several other regular coffeemakers I've used, which means I don't have to spend as much on coffee...or I could put that money saved towards better coffee. I'm not an expert on coffee but using the dripper has opened up a new appreciation for coffee. I'm finding myself actually enjoying what I'm drinking, versus just stomaching a cup of bitter caffeine to keep myself awake. As far as filters go, Hario #2 cone filters work wonderfully. In a pinch, I've used a basket filter with success, although it didn't work as well as the Hario cone filters, and the coffee dribbled at a weird angle out the bottom and outside of the cup. When buying filters, keep in mind that the Melitta cone filters have a flat bottom, vs the fully cone shaped ones from Hario. Of course, there are ways to use whatever filter you have, although the results won't be optimal compared to the Hario filters. I've brewed well over 100 cups with the Hario filters and the Tanors dripper and have had no issues whatsoever. They're a little tricky to find in stores, but you can buy a bunch for a decent price on Amazon. Anyways, I highly recommend this dripper. It makes a clean, delicious cup of coffee. I am finding it very hard to go back to coffeemaker coffee--or even coffee at most coffee shops--now that I have this. I actually prefer it over Aeropress. For how cheap the dripper is, I'd say it's worth a try! We have 3 coffeemakers in the house (yes, 3), and when I ran out of filters, I ended up improvising with basket filters just because I couldn't go back to the machines.

Finally, a good cup of coffee!!
Tried one of those coffee makers that makes one cup at a time, didn't particularly like it. We have been using this item for about a week now and we are glad we bought it. It is ceramic, so no plastic. Easy to use, easy to clean. My husband drinks decaf and I drink regular so this is perfect for us. We only drink one, maybe 2 cups each, so we did not need a full pot of coffee sitting around all day. Very low tech which is good for first thing in the morning! We would have liked to have had a product made in USA, but this is well made and was the same cost as a Mr. Coffee 4-cup maker. An instruction sheet in the box would have been nice, but was able to figure out how to use this with no problem. I am currently using flat bottomed filters with no problem. Will look into trying cone shaped ones when these run out. Delivery was a week, which seemed slow since it looks like it was coming from West Virginia and we live in Virginia. Package arrived in good condition.

Good, but fragile
This ceramic dripper does a very good job for coffee pourovers. It keeps it reasonably warm, a typical problem with pour overs. It fits the top of most cups and mugs, although I had some trouble fitting it to larger receptacles when I make coffee for more than one person. The only significant drawback other than possibly size is the fact this is very delicate, very easy to break. Actually, they had to send me a replacement as the original arrived broken

Perfect way to make a cup of coffee for one!
For making a single cup of coffee in the morning before heading out the door, this product is the way to go. I am happy with the design, sturdiness and function. At first I thought it would be a disadvantage to have a solid base that did not allow me to see how full the cup was becoming as I poured. However, I just measure out the water ahead of time for the cup size (aka caffeine dose) I need that day and heat that much water up in a Pyrex in the microwave and that way there is no risk of overfilling the cup. However, it is easy enough to just slightly lift the dripper to check how full the cup is getting if you prefer to heat a kettle of water instead. I would say the only potential disadvantage of this dripper if if you use wide-mouth cups because you may have to hold the dipper rather than resting it on top of the cup, or you may need to invest in some sort of stand for the dripper (but this would still get the job done). If you are trying to find the right dripper to use for a pour over cup of coffee, I don't see any reason to hesitate in buying this dripper. I am personally, totally satisfied with it. (P.S. I buy the Hario 02 cone filters to use with this, and they work great together.)

Makes great coffee, but you DO have to know how to use it
Excellent quality, and practically indistinguishable from a Hario dripper. An obvious suggestion to the seller would be to make it very clear what kind of filters are to be used. A lot of negative reviews clearly stem from using the wrong filters. This dripper requires #2 Hario filters which are cone shaped, and not Melitta #2 filters which are flat bottomed. If you insist on using Melitta filters, make a fold in the filter so that the bottom of the filter makes a right angle; Then when you open it up, you'll get a nice cone shaped filter which works reasonably well in the Tanors dripper. If you've done it right, you should see about 1/4 inch of the cone protruding from the bottom of the dripper. The benefit of the large hole in this dripper is that it does not impede the flow of liquid out of it, thereby allowing you more control over the brewing process. If you get your grind right, and your technique right, you'll make an extremely revealing cup of coffee, one that will highlight the best from your beans, and also (unfortunately) any flaws in your beans. You must use high quality coffee with this dripper. Just search the internet for "v60 brewing" guides for all sorts of tips, videos, etc on how to make the best coffee with this simple device.
