If you are looking to edge an area with gravel, 1.5 inches is not deep enough?** A: All I know is it worked for me I put a couple inches of Bark in and it works just fine. Is it easy to create nice smooth curves or do they end up being wiggley? Does it tend to retain the shipping coil shape?** A: If you do purchase this product you need to also purchase more stakes. Like any plastic.... if you don't reinforce it properly... yes... it will be wiggly. It the nature of plastic. I purchased more states and did every other hole. Looks fantastic.. 200' around my deck keeping the stone and grass separated. It is very flexible and I had no problem with it coiling.... I straightened it out with my hands on a cloudy day and was able to cut it with garden shears. So much easier than the dig type of edging. I am a very pick woman and I had 200' installed in 1 hr. Looks awesome!!! I would purchase more if I needed it.. Do purchase more stakes tho…. you definitely don't get enough with the original package. My neighbor has the dig type of edging and it is all wiggly and uneven... looks terrible. LOL... I caught him checking out mine... Looks way better!!!!
