Takes A Good Effort to Install, Though. - These are well-made solid rubber tires that fit the wheelchair wheels very well. Like others have said, they can be difficult to get on. Knowing this, after reading many of the reviews here on desertcart, I took the wheels and these new tires to a bicycle shop to have them installed. They tried, but weren't able to get them done, because they were using a small, plastic bicycle tire installation tool, which didn't work. So, I thought I would just try it myself. I watched the installation video carefully. Then, did exactly as they did and I got the tires on the wheels in about 5 minutes each tire. You must use the two zip ties as they do in the video, and you must hold the tire in place with one hand as you go, as shown in the video. A very important thing is that you have to have leverage against the wheel as you put the tire on; especially, the further along you go, since the tighter it gets. That is why the video shows the wheel still on the chair during installation--to provide leverage so the wheel doesn't move sideways when you put it on. I actually had the wheels off for my installation, but I leveraged them between the tailgate of my truck and the bed -- holding them in place from moving side-to-side during installation. You cannot get them on without such leverage. I won't minimize the fact that it takes some muscle to pull the tire up and over the wheel rim with the tool provided, especially, the further you go. But, using the tool, and following the video installation instructions explicitly, it can be done by most reasonable fit people. But, again, the key is to leverage the wheel, or "bind" it in such a way that it doesn't move side-to-side during installation. I didn't use any lubricants, no hot water soaking, etc. They WILL fit, even though it seems like they won't. The rubber can be stretched plenty far enough to install the tires on the wheels. The tire is stretched over this rim with the tool included. As suggested we soaked the tire in hot water for a few minutes to give it more flex going on the rim. The rubber can be stretched plenty far enough to install the tires on the wheels. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So good!! *by Y***Y on August 7, 2026* Very good quality product, they were perfect, I would buy it again, I give it 10 out of 10 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extra cable ties and pre-soak in water *by F***R on March 13, 2023* The package arrived as described, with all items needed in the box. 1) Tires come folded over in a small box, so you will need to unfold tires and let them regain natural shape overnight. A heavy book helps. 2) I tried to put the 1st tire on and it was a beast. I was extremely difficult to get the last 40%of the tire on the rim. This took me nearly 2 hours, moving centimeters at a time. Final result finished 1 wheel and very sore hands from trying to keep tire in place, while grappling to get the rest of it on the rim. 3) I went back through and read another review that mentioned soaking the tire in water to soften it up. I let the tire soak completely submerged for 4 hours. 4) The 2nd tire went on easier initially. I then used cable ties to keep it strapped in along the way, which resulted in less pressure on my hands. 5) After it was 80% on the rim, I flipped over the metal tool, similar to how the instructional video indicated and wrestled the last part of the tire onto the rim. 6) After that was done, i went around the rim, consistently checking, to insure the lip was snugly on the rim. Total time to complete the 2nd tire installation was 20 minutes and no sore hands.
