Some combination of attack direction I suspect. I can't duplicate it manually, yet somehow a couple times a year it somehow manages to get stuck, and one of those removals inevitably breaks the plastic base of the wheel mount. Not fatal. since replacements are inexpensive enough that I keep spares in my cleaning closet. These are them.The wheels are very easy to replace with no tools needed. I sometimes grab a pliers to help, but the basic wheel remove-and-replace procedure (pull the old one, insert the new one) is tool-less. There's a single vertical pin with a groove in it, and little latch ball in the mounting hole engages that and keeps the wheel from falling out. Not much more than that though, so it's a pretty painless exercise all in.So long as service and consumable parts like this remain available, I can keep the Roomba alive and cleaning.
