Review: Worked day one! Quick and easy! - Typically, I don't write reviews unless it's awful or amazing. This rat trap was amazing. I had been messing with a classic wooden rat trap for weeks with no luck. Rat would eat everything and not set it off or set it off and eat everything with no luck. After setting this out for one night, the was caught and dead in the morning. It happened extremely fast and was real easy to set up. It claps on the rats head for what seems to be a quick death and was easy to dispose of afterwards. I am buying another one now in cae I have more. Can't recommend this over the classic wooden trap.
Review: As perfect a trap as can be. - Works like a charm. No muss, no fuss. Rats took up residence in my garage just before we had a freeze here in FL. High living! Many of my plants were in there…gave them lots to eat. Everything they needed. But now I’m catching them with two traps per night. Four so far. I won’t re-use them…ick factor for me. (What can I say…I’m a female. The fact that I can bring myself to dispose of them is a big deal for me). Thankfully desertcart offers them for half of what they are at local Ace Hardware. One adult fought like heck, wouldn’t die, even with head stuck in trap. Nasty. I put them in large plastic painters’ pail and closed the lid. Out they go. Yeah, some money spent on traps and pails…but a whole lot less than using extermination service. Still need to have them “bomb” garage, though.

**Q: Will these kill squerrals????**
A: Yes, they work well for squirrels, I don't know about "squerrals" they seem like a mythical creature only found in the Fire Swamps, Westley and Buttercup had to use a sword to kill the ones they encountered.

**Q: Has anyone used these for ground squirrels, and if so, any success?**
A: We currently use these for chipmunks (ground squirrels). They work absolutely great. Set the trap and bait with black sunflower seeds. We've had to attach the traps to tent stakes to prevent larger animals from carrying off the trap.

**Q: Can you buy or get more removable bait cups?**
A: I had one batch of traps whose bait cups broke the first or second time that each trap snapped (specifically the tabs at the bottom are what failed). I emailed the manufacturer, who mailed me a bag of 25 replacement cups. I haven't had any cups break in the past year, so I think that I just had one bad batch.

**Q: Is this an upgraded version of the tomcat secure-kill rat trap? the secure-kill works but it breaks after one rat.**
A: I had no problems with the last version and like this version better for being able to remove the bait part. I'm getting mice, rats, and chipmunks. For me, it's lasted several kills before the trap needs replacing.

My condo unit is right by a community dumpster, which unfortunately means rats find themselves on my screened-in patio. I was worried they’d find their way inside my home, especially when I could see they were chewing into an exterior wall. Humane traps didn’t work. Since getting this, I’ve found two big males dead in the trap. Not gonna lie: finding, picking up, and disposing of a stiff rat with a smashed face is traumatizing. I’m relieved they died quickly, but it’s still something that bothers me a great deal. A+ for effectiveness. Wish I didn’t have to see the carcass.
