GERATHERM Classic Fever Thermometer Analogue

The instructions are so small I needed two magnifying glasses to read. I found the shake down impossible. Never got down to the suggested 36 degrees, Returned to Amazon and I will try to find a mercury thermometer as they shake down quickly.

We have had mixed experiences using the new electronic thermometers so we bought this traditional glass one to use. It appears well made but we had initial reading errors. This was down to a need to shake the thermometer quite vigorously in order to get the reading to below 37 as it was well above this on arrival from Amazon. It did state the need to do this in the instructions and I guess we have seen nurses doing this in the very distant past. So its okay but probably not as easy to use as expected.

After being feverish recently and finding that neither of the two existing digital thermometers in the house were working even after a change of battery, (I mean what's the ------- point!!), I decided to go 'vintage' with this old style, analogue thermometer, that can hopefully sit in the cupboard for a year or three, and still work when actually needed without batteries! Like other reviewers I found that it seemed to read about a degree C. low, so I checked it out by putting it in a glass of water at @40C, alongside a brewing thermometer that I know to be fairly reliable, though with a wider range. Good result, -both thermometers read roughly the same, and the 'classic' thermometer was actually quite fast, reaching maximum temperature in considerably less than a minute. I guess my 'normal' temperature must be slightly low. Needs a bit of shaking to get the liquid back down, but the trick seems to be to let the thermometer cool for a minute or two before trying so there's space! The holder does help, making accidentally letting go less likely. On the evidence so far, I can thoroughly recommend.

Ich habe nach einem Thermometer für unseren Sohn (3) gesucht, da unser Ohr/ und Stirnthermometer nie die richtige Temperatur angezeigt hat. Dieses funktionniert perfekt und toll ist, dass es recht schnell geht bis das Ergebnis abgelesen werden kann, sodass unser kleiner Sohn ohne viel jammern mit dem Thermometer solange ruhig sitzen bleibt. Der Signalton ist vielleicht etwas leise...man muss wirklich leise sein, damit man ihn nicht verpasst.

Fiable. Tuve mis dudas cuando lo compre por algunos comentarios que me habia leido por aqui, pero un buen termometro. Exactamente igual que los de mi infancia. Antes de ponertelo lo miras para asegurarte de que esta bajado, te lo pones, lo dejas 3-5 minutos para darle tiempo que dilate y suba correctamente hasta tu temperatura, lo miras girandolo ligeramente para que la luz incida de tal manera que puedas ver cuanto ha subido lo plateado sobre el azul, y luego lo sacudes desde el codo (como si tuvieras la mano mojada y te sacudieras vigorosamente las gotas) para volver a bajarlo, lo limpias si hace falta, y lo guardas. A diferencia de uno electrónico, nunca te fallara, ni se quedara sin bateria. Y para romperlo, habra que empeñarse bastante.

Sehr gut verarbeitetes Thermometer, dass sich durch Sonneneinstrahlung selber auflädt, keine Batterien nötig. Messungen sind sehr genau leichte Bedienung. Preisleistung ist auch in Ordnung.
