Minecraft: Guide to Redstone (Updated) [Mojang AB, The Official Minecraft Team] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Minecraft: Guide to Redstone (Updated) Review: For beginners - Nice book, helpful if your new Review: Great for curious kids — my 8-year-old loves it! - I bought Minecraft: Guide to Redstone for my 8-year-old, and he’s been completely hooked. He already loved Minecraft, but this book took his interest to the next level—it introduced him to how Redstone works and gave him the confidence to start building more complex contraptions on his own. The explanations are clear and kid-friendly, with lots of pictures and step-by-step instructions that are easy for him to follow without needing constant help from me. It’s also sparked a lot of creativity—he’s now building automatic doors, traps, and secret passages in his Minecraft worlds and explaining the logic to me like a little engineer. This is a fantastic book for kids who already enjoy Minecraft and want to explore the more technical side of the game. It feels like learning disguised as fun. Highly recommend for elementary schoolers who love to build and tinker!

Different and the same
I have both the Redstone Handbook and the Guide to Redstone, both showing and giving information about Redstone. They are both the same and different at the same time, each having different contraptions that can be built using Redstone. Is the Guide to Redstone, the newest book on Redstone, better than the Redstone Handbook? In my opinion, not really, just different. While the Redstone Handbook talks about items that can be used with Redstone, the Guide to Redstone shows pictures of the items that can be used with Redstone. And as I said, each book has different contraptions that can be built using Redstone. Would I favor one book over the other? No, because both have valuable information on using Redstone for the person just starting out playing with Redstone. And you do have to play with Redstone to actually understand what is happening and how to make your contraptions work. A good way to learn about Redstone is to play with it in a flat world, with no mobs to distract you, grab either the Guide to Redstone or the Redstone Handbook and play with the basics you find in either book. And don't forget the videos on YouTube, they are worth their weight in gold when it comes to learning to make contraptions using Redstone.

Great!
Bought this as a present for my grandson. It’s one he had picked out so I knew he would like it. Based on this I rate it with 5 stars.

I guess I had higher expectations for this book. It has great detail explaining the redstone and what it does, along with various related blocks associated, but other than that, that's about it. I was hoping for way more examples/ideas to put into my worlds. As much as its respectful to have some pages dedicated to an interview with Jigarbov (creator of red-stone?), I would have rather had a few more ideas. Of course, his being acknowledged in a forward or epilogue could have sufficed. Anyways, because of this I'll be returning the book. I guess that's what happens when you buy online instead of being able to browse the content in a bookstore before commiting. Before you ask yourself, out of 93 pages the book contains about 8/9 recipes which includes alternatives/variations of the same recipe.. so not much really.
